    Bought my First Revolver

Thanks, I enjoy shooting it. I live in a rural area and all I have to do to reach my shooting range is open my back door and take a few steps west. I have thought about getting into reloading. Just have not pulled the trigger on that hobby as of yet. Maybe in a few years when I retire. I...

    Bought my First Revolver

OK I have years of experience with long guns and Semi auto's. I bought my first revolver. It was an impulse buy, looked cool and the price was good. It is a S&W 637 Gunsmoke Guns Wyatt Deep Cover. Double action only. I would like to use it as one of my daily carry options. The only...

    Compact 45 acp help?

I have owned the SIG 250 45C could not get usde to the trigger pull. Sold it. I currently own the M&P45C. It had a really good trigger but I put a APEX tactical Duty/Carry kit in it. The APEX kit did not make a great improvement in the pull it just lightened it by a couple of pounds. I did...

    Mag confiscation talking points

Any mag ban should have to apply law enforcement also. If you have a intruder in your home you will have to deal with the threat long before the police arrive. And they will show up with high capicity mags in every weapon they bring. If they need them so do we.

The incongruity that is CCW renewal time in my city...

When my CCW permit was up for renewal I had moved to another County in Alabama. (The county sherrif has total control of CCW permits) The office had moved so I got there at 3:55pm. The clerk said the office closed at 4 so I said I will come back tomorrow. She took my DL and I was out the door...

    Sig p238 slide stop

It sounds like the spring on the slide stop. Or not enough lube on the cam where the slide stop pin goes thru it. If the spring pops out of the little hole in the frame it will push the slide stop out away from the frame and cause it to jam against the frame. And with the mag in it is pushing...

    Colt Government 380 Slide Stop

After a closer examination it appears that the previous owner assembled the gun with the slide stop spring not seated correctly and bent it. I compared it to some pictures and I have bent it back to shape. I will order a new one, but it seems to be working fine now. Thanks for the comments.

    Colt Government 380 Slide Stop

I recently purchased a Colt Government 380. Too good of a deal to pass up. I replaced the springs and did a complete strip and cleaning. The only problem with the gun is the slide stop. It will move out slightly and jam the slide. It has only done it once while shooting but if you cycle the...

What is the last gun that you bought?

I just picked up a Sig Sauer P6. The trigger pull was a bear. I tore it down to the frame and it looked like it was full of "Graphite Mud" for lack of a better term. Soaked everything in degreaser and scrubbed. Knocked a few pounds off the pull but it stills feel like 18# plus. I think this...

    380 ammo on sale

Well I bought some and the first box I had 4rds that would not fire. Strange because I had fired 50rds of winchester white box without a hitch. But out of 50 PMC Bronze 4 would not go bang. Very slight mark on the primer. The range officer came over when I raised my hand to signal a problem and...

Can you legally register a WWII weapon

Thanks for all the great info. I talked to him, and his uncle is looking for all of the paper work. His uncle told him he would have to pay the $200 transfer fee. So if he knew that then I am assuming the gun is registered, and he should be able to transfer it without any problems.

Can you legally register a WWII weapon

Not sure how to ask this, But here goes. I have a friend (wish it were me) that his uncle has a German weapon that he brought back from WWII. He told me that the weapon will be pass to him upon his uncle's death. He is trying to find out if he can legally transfer it. Not sure if it is...

    What? I was missing?

I would suggest you try and find a rental or a friends gun that has a laser. Then do some dry fire drills and see what the laser is doing on the target. I have two 1911's with crimson trace grips and it really helped my trigger control.

    hi-point or sigma

I have a Sigma 40. Have shot 500+ rounds thru it with one hickup. I let my thumb drag on the slide when I chambered the first round using the slide release. I have never had a problem finding a holster. I have a ISWB, Forbus paddle and a couple no names. The hi-point I did shoot. (Friends...

    CCW and Law Enforcement

I am just curious how Law Enforcement officers feel about people who carry. I was in a discussion with a few people about a YouTube video (I can't seem to find it now) and a person who claimed to be a police officer just lambasted "civilians who carry a concealed weapon", they are not trained...
