I've got $2k burning I hole in my pocket. I'm debating either a built 1911 (fusion) or an gun (HK45-T + suppressor) combo.
Thoughts? Or a good business case adding a third and fourth option to my list
I've had two of the chiappa 1911 .22's and both were jam-o-matic with bulk ammo.. Did alright with higher end copper plated .22. Haven't tried but conserved the ATI .22
Own a Ruger 22/45 as well and you can't go wrong with the Rugers.. Just don't ever take it apart. :)
My best recommendation is a local machine shop. They could probably put something together really cheap that adapt from the blade to a tripod screw.
I can see a couple ways I could bubba a mount for that but a machine shop or someone with a drill press / welder / time on their hands could do a...
I'm going to guess my next purchase will fall in line with last few..
Someone I know or a friend of a friend offloading sock drawer space occupants.. Like a minty gorgeous stainless security six with wood ruger grips, in a nice safariland holster for 3 flat.
I second (or third/fourth) the 30-30 comment. Level action gives off a old west feel for younger new hunters.. Gimmicky yes but if it's enough to keep them interested through their first bought of buck fever I'll take it!
Good CCW
I took my CCW with the guys from cincinnaticcw.com. Was $75 for the class. Was held at I want to say the Ramada in Mason (northern cincinnati). Range time they took us up to private property outside of Waynesville..
My mom and her sister keep talking about wanting to shoot and get their CCW's.. I've offered on several occasions to take them to the range and they always find an excuse not to.. Don't know if they are scared? Or scared of what I might stick in their hand to shoot first (full house .454 casull...
I have the pps in .40 and it is quite the uncomfortable beast to shoot... I have a Taurus ultralight .38 that I've shoved +P through and an sp101 3" with fairly hot .357 and those two are still easier on my body than the PPS...
My loading gear is still in the moving boxes... Must manage the right frame of mind... Make sure the feng shui of my loading space has the right chi to load reliable, accurate rounds...
I've goNe the cheap laser route and now have CT, armalaser, or lasermax guide rod lasers in a few pistols. Cheap is just that, cheap, ugly and not the most reliable IMHO.
For me the cheap lasers go on the guns I play with at the range and wouldn't be on a gun my life or someone else would...
That I am... North Cincy really close to the questionable indoor range. Most people I've ran into that I would consider safe and prudent shooters avoid there like the plague.. Too many sideways shooting gansta types and pistol grip shotgun thugs to feel comfy.
HAAHAA!!!! I see you have been to Tri-County, OH... Isn't that place great!
Independence, KY is the next closest public indoor rangevto Cincy. Last time I was in there they were pretty helpful, the range was nice, and they allow more than your pistol / shotgun fare.
Sorry to hear that you had a rough time with LEO. I have had my CCW for about 2 years and in that time have received three presents from three separate LE departments (I have a heavy right foot at times) and I've never been hassled about my pistol being on me or in my car.
I've been advised...
