Not again.......! Feral Hog Control in East Texas

The second night, seemed like the best time to get them. I didnt know if I would get another chance. The adrenaline was overwhelming. I can say that I now believe trapping is more intense than hunting, bar none. I hit the trip and caught 7 hogs. The last two continued circling the pen over and...

Not again.......! Feral Hog Control in East Texas

Over the following two days I watched the tracks and wallows move further and further towards our gas wells and small gardens. I knew at this point I had little time to set up a trap before they were too close to homes, and the wells. I'm not comfortable shooting very close to open natural gas...

Not again.......! Feral Hog Control in East Texas

Went to check the water level the other day on the bayou, and noticed nice big wallows in pretty consistent chunks, expanding from the same area inland.

    New to coyotes

your best bet is winnie, north of you. shoot up 45 and cross the crystal beach ferry, and when you hit i-10, go east towards beaumont. there's ALOT, and i mean ALOT of farms, and family farms out there. not just rice-growers either. lots of hog issues out there, and wide open spaces more suited...

    Reloading cheap bulk walmart ammo?

the 25$/100 remington 2 3/4 "sport" hulls that are typically 7 1/2 / 8 / 9 and 1&1/8 oz loads run fine in my mec and P/w presses, and i use AA data. they don't last long.. typically the factory fire then 1-2 reloads before splitting/crimp worn out.

    357 Sig Reloding... but HOW???

I load 357 sig with once fired 357 sig from the local range, using 9mm bullets. I have found the XTPs function best. I use RCBS carbide dies. the 40 brass is too short to reform. 10mm has a large primer which is unnecessary.

    new reloading buddy.

And the best kind! after about a year dating, she wondered into my "hobby room" and got interested super fast, after all this time "not carrying about my boring ammo". she's been a very talented shooter for some time, we started shooting together at the range about two and a half years ago...

    Armor peircing bullets

The m995 is a tungsten carbide penetrator armor piercing round for the 5.56/223, but is very expensive so the government doesn't stock very much of it, and as far as I know and have been told, the only place it is used is belted up for saw's for the army, and isn't often seen. It is heavily...

    Accurate 2230-c

Reverse engineering my dads favorite load from 2001. I still have every piece of brass from that lot. I just have to replace the primer, because we used WSR white box which were nickel coated hard primers and aren't made the same anymore.

    Accurate 2230-c

This one's on me, i seem to have been under the impression 2230 is a spherical powder. Apparently 2230 AND 2460 are spherical, which is great. I have gotten away from all extruded powders except for varget, which i keep about 40 pounds on hand at all times, of the same lot number. I will pick up...

    Accurate 2230-c

I have tried h335 and it didn't perform as I hoped. Regular 2230 is an extruded powder and I am trying to reserve use of spherical powders, for the ease of measuring in my dillon. Nothing has ever worked so well in 223 semis for me. Hoping someone has a source for it, or knows someone with a...

    Accurate 2230-c

Has anyone else used this powder? What calibers/results? Does anyone know anywhere it can be purchased at anymore? It was a powder manufactured by accurate arms for "Duplicating the load of the military M193". It is a ball powder with about the same burn rate of AA2230. I've been looking...

    Clean before or after sizing

Was this tested on not-crimped rifle brass with say 50-60% density and double base extruded/stick powders? That is where I would be concerned. Also, not only should brass be tumbled before resizing due to carbon residue on the end of brass, which can scratch dies or chambers, it is important...

    308 powder opinions needed

varget works great on heavier loads and bullets, But i can honestly say i have never gotten better results than H-4895. i have tried EVERYTHING, and can say that NOTHING has been more tolerant, and consistent no matter WHAT the variables. it likes all bullets, primers, cases, guns, weather...

    Please Help Out a Newbie

Welcome to THR! 1; I need a suggestion on what brand and type of pistol powder, and brand and type of primers i should start out with. .45ACP 230 gr. fmjs (1911) For powder, i recommend Winchester 231 or Hodgdon HP-38, they are ball powders that meter well, also Bullseye (probably the best...

    Single or progessive

any rifle ammunition fired in automatics, i load on my dillon 550, along with all pistol ammunition. the bottlenecked rifle cartridges used in bolt guns, even for "plinking" are done on a single stage.. the rifle cartridges for precision, i use micrometer dies on an arbor press.
