Striker vs Hammer Fired Polymer Frame Pistols

With my CZ-82, the hammer is cocked when the slide is pulled (probably how it is on most DA/SA, I would assume?). So it is pretty much single action all the time. When I go from my XD to the CZ there is barely a difference in operation. Just rack the slide and pull the trigger.

    Easiest Pistol Magazine to Load?

If I was to replace my XD (probably sticking with 9mm, though) here would be some things on my radar: Glock 17 or 19, Beretta 92FS, Hi-Power, or a Ruger SR9. I'm sure we could all argue over the actual guns for many days, but I'm mostly just curious about the different mag styles right now. So...

    Easiest Pistol Magazine to Load?

Hi guys. Noob disclaimer. :) I haven't tried very many pistols, but I have an XDm 9mm that is a major pain to load. It came with a speedloader, which definitely makes it easier, but still takes a lot of time and effort. Also the XD mag springs seem to catch in weird places and aren't holding the...

    Proposed Changes to AZ Laws

Link Some great stuff being thrown around in the Arizona state legislature right now, including the right to conceal carry without a permit. Thoughts? Any body else here from AZ that knows more? (the article is from last month...) Are there any other states that are considering something...

    intimidated by getting into ak's.

I like my WASR. Well worth the $380 I spent on it. With that said, my dad has one also that is not really on the same level. The parts seem a little scratched and the fit is a little off. Definitely still workable though. We also just refinished both stocks. A little Tung oil and those...

    Flinching.

+1 on guys doing it more than girls. Both my sister and my mother shot better than me their first time out.

    Flinching.

Speaking of retired LEO's... I got caught flinching by a retired police officer I met at the range. He saw me shooting low and ran me through some exercises. First, he balanced an empty brass casing on the front sight (doesn't work on all handguns if they're not level). As soon as I could dry...

    Modifying a Mosin Stock

Don't worry, GD. Mine is just a cheap Russian with non-matching numbers and a funky bolt. Nobody should be too upset...

    Modifying a Mosin Stock

Thanks guys. I looked into the synthetic, but for 20 bucks more I could just get another Mosin to play with. :D I'm not really looking to totally butcher these, but I kind of enjoy taking a beat up surplus gun and at least making it respectable again.

    Modifying a Mosin Stock

I'm thinking of shortening the wood that goes out along the barrel on a 91/30. Has anyone done this before? I would love to see pics of everyone's Mosin projects. I also have an M44 that been in the process of being refinished for a couple of months now. It's mostly stripped of laminate and...

    Handgun New Years Resolutions.

    1. Train/classes/practice 2. Look into reloading 3. Take my sister shooting (Won't actually be a challenge, thankfully. She turns 21 in the spring though, so I hope she gets a concealed carry permit.)

    looking for an Ak-47

I agree, the ClassicArms site is hard to navigate and mostly ridiculous. But if you know what you want, it's functional.

    looking for an Ak-47

I also just recently bought and purchased my first AK. Being a tightwad to begin with, I got one of the cheapest I could find, which ended up being a WASR from ClassicArms. I can't really compare it with other AK because I'm still pretty new to this, but it works. Took it out over the weekend...
