Show me your favorite air gun

This is my Air Force Condor; at the moment it is fitted with the 12" .22 barrel, a 62 cu. in. tank, a regulator, and a Barska 8-32x42 scope. It'll drop squirrels at 50 yards, and because of the longer Condor frame the barrel muzzle is four inches inside making the hammer striking the valve...

    Least expensive favorite handguns (auto)

Keltec P-11 used for $216 out the door. Light, reliable, cheap.

    Keep it clean

Couldn't agree more. I am surprised at how quickly they foul, and yes cleaning usually fixes the problem.

    Bought my first air rifle

In my experience air guns need to be cleaned a good deal more than .22lr. I don't know why except maybe the soft lead of the pellets sticks more to the barrel.

How many have put in a spring kit???

I bought a Diana 48 that had a broken spring and the guy threw in the new spring. I guess he didn't want to try to fix it himself. I don't know what it shot like before but it was flawless with the new spring. Sold it off to buy a Condor though.

    Pellets

If you haven't tried them already you might give the JSB pellets a try. Most of my rifles love them, and in .177 they have a sampler at pyramid air so you can find out which of them shoots best in your gun...

How far do you shoot your air rifle?

I have an Air Force Condor that in .22 with a 32.4 grain pellet will shoot under an inch at 50 yards and close to 90 fpe out of a 24" barrel. That's the farthest shooting lane that I have at my place. Others that have custom machined rigs can hit a pop can at a quarter mile using .257 cast lead...

Need your opinion of best air rifle for pigeon control

The Webley Hurricane is a great tool. Plenty accurate out to 30 feet. Did you get one with the scope or just irons? I bought an old beater with the Webley scope, no irons, and it was WELL used and dirty when I bought it. After a thorough cleaning and some practice I used it to kill red wasps...

.243 with 22" barrel: heavy or light bullet best?

Thank you Vern, good info. Since this will be used mostly in deer hunting it looks like we'll be going with heavier bullets. Cheers

.243 with 22" barrel: heavy or light bullet best?

I don't know if there is a general of thumb on whether shorter barrels like lighter bullets or heavier ones but I know if there is an answer out there you guys will know.

    Resources

Thank you for keeping us up to date Your work is greatly appreciated. Having written to both Senators here neither has replied, whereas Mo. Brooks, our districts Congressman, wrote back a very Pro2A email in less than 48 hours. I'll be continuing to email my Senators until I receive a response.

    Big Caliber Semi Automatic Rifles

Spent two years in the Alaskan interior. If I had my choice of weapons to carry up there it'd be the FN FAL. It'll handle the crappy weather better than any of the others, always runs, uses any ammo available, reasonably good accuracy, a little heavy but not bad, and tough as nails. You can get...

Guns are evil and this woman proves it.

No way a woman and her kids should be allowed to injure others like this. http://www.ajc.com/news/news/local/mother-of-two-surprises-burglar-with-five-gunshots/nTnGR/ Hope Hollywoodheads read this, but then again everything they read at work is fantasy anyway so what can we expect...

Does Smith & Wesson make a good AR15?

Since nobody has asked????? What is the intended purpose of this rifle? Plinking, target, self defense, hunting, burning as much ammo as you can afford? It WILL make a difference. Chrome lined is good if you want to put 10,000 plus rounds down the tube in just one or two years. But unless...

    Can anyone identify this spider?

Since this is already out of control The average human eats 4 spiders in their sleep over the course of their life. :what: If one of them happens to be a full grown wolf spider you can skip breakfast that day.

    Loaded tumbling issue...

Not sure but,... I seem to recall that the movie industry uses something similar to enhance the flash so that it shows up better on film. So my advice is fire away and thrill your friends and family. OR NOT.

Light 223 load for 11.5" Stag AR

Very interesting to say the least. Of note in the posting that you inserted, the experimenter is shooting from bolt action rifles. There may be some issues in getting a direct impingment weapon to cycle at the lower end of the loadings. You also lose some velocity but I can't see any chance...

    Coyote Problems Please Help

Put in a paved road and then sit at one end and wait for them to come out and crap in the middle of it. At least the coyotes in AL always seem to do their business in the middle of the road at night. LOL.
