    What you really need to watch is the bullet not locking up the cyclinder from jumping forward.I use a small shim to cast mine a bit larger.And yes they do hit a little high.Also to get them to start easy I bevel the base some.I can't get used to the narrow trigger on the ROA without the trigger...

    cast boolit I am going to use the Lyman 311041 it is a 173 grain FN.It comes out to 177.9 lubed and gas checked for me.I have heard it both ways about Marlin lever guns and cast boolits.All I can do is give it a try.

    made a mistake Thank you for the reply and the link.However I made a mistake.Mine is the 20 inch barrel.I really like this rifle.I had a newer 336A and didn't like it near as much.When I get it broke in I am going to give 173 grain cast a try in it.

    Just got a 1979 Marlin 336 it has the 18 inch barrel 6 shot tube and plain walnut wood.My question is all it says is model 336.Why no letter after the number.All the ones in my gun books have a letter.The closest one seems to be the 336C.Thanks.I would like to know something about it.

    I believe this one has "Doughnut" post rib.Also it has checkered forearm with one diamond in center.The ser. No. Is 134xxx.There are so many in the Blue Book I don't know what to think.But this gun is 95% plus.The barrel is marked Skeet.

    A gun dealer in a nearby town told him he would give him $1200 for it.But I suppose that would give him room to make some money on the deal too.I told him to keep it as his grandfather bought it new in 1958.But noone in the family has a use for any guns.If work here was better I would buy it...

    A friend off mine is trying to sell a model 42 skeet shotgun.What type of price range would it bring?He has the box it came in all the papers all four chokes and to me it looks around 95%.And it is all original.Thank for any help you may give.

    I just checked the one I got yesterday.It has no movement at all when the hammer is back.
