Ok, just got it fixed tonight.
The barrel somehow got lodged to far forward. My buddy with weapon training from the military saw it and tapped the barrel against a tire, and once it was far enough in, the slide sprang forward.

another question, is it possible to pull the slide back at all if the ejector is up? It has flipped up in the past but I have always caught it before I put the slide back on.
I don't think it is. It's about a tenth of an inch farther in than yours is. I only had a small tapeline which put it at 27/32 (.840)
what would I use to remedy this, If this is what it is?
No no. I followed all the steps. and I pulled out the slide stop. it does not come all the way out on a P89DC. Just far enough to allow the slide to come off.
To my knowledge, and I couldn't find anywhere to help me with this, I cannot pull the locking lever completely out. So this route is out.
A dude on another site told me to try to wiggle the guiderod, that it might be stuck, this also has not worked... yet.
I recently came into possession of a p89 and immediately learned how to disassemble my weapon so I could clean it and such. I took the barrel off (pressed the ejector down, pulled out the slide stop, pulled barrel off) I put the barrel assembly back on and brought it back so I could put the stop...
