Whenever I've had that problem with 40 and 45 swc I've had to load them longer until they would feed properly but you have to make sure they are not too long and get jammed into the rifling.

The only difference between pistol and rifle data will be the velocity they got with a longer barrel. The pressure limits are still the same as if loading for a handgun.

If the die doesn't touch the case the case will probably start spinning since it has nothing to stop it. Also if you back it off far enough to not touch the body you probably won't have enough adjustment to actually trim the case.

With seeing the price per 1000 broken down by weight I really doubt there is any company buying the brass from them at $3 a # they wouldn't be able to make much if any money off of it.

I would start at 2.7 and work your way up to until you find a good load using 3.2 as the max.
