Korth semi auto: need your opinion.

I've always wanted a 41, too. What do you think about a Hammerli 212 Hunter?

    Near Disasters & a SIG P210 Warning!

Actually, I just took a look at my p210 and the "pin" that caught on that Walther mag is the magazine disconnect, which bears in about the middle of the magazine. That is probably why Sig put the vertical string of magazine holes off-center. I would guess that Walther P1 mag holes are in the...

    Near Disasters & a SIG P210 Warning!

Can you post a picture of both magazines so I can tell the difference since I'm always looking for p210 mags?

    32 S&W Long Target Gun?

I was fortunate enough to find a Manurhin in .32 Long, but it is built in the Sport configuration, not the Match. It truly has a fantastic double action trigger pull. Of course you could shoot .32 Long in any revolver chambered in .32 H&R Magnum or the new .327 Federal.

What DA .22 revolver should I get?

I paid $460 for the K22, but I didn't mean it was so much a deal as the price of the 10/22 has really gone up in this crazy market.

Best revolver grip suggestion for one who mostly uses pistols?

Take a look at the grips offered by Trausch.

What DA .22 revolver should I get?

Next week I'll pick up my first .22 revolver: a 1948 Smith K22. I had to pick it up since the local gun shop had a plain jane Ruger 10/22 for the same price!

Suggestions on double action trigger technique

Sam, I'm no expert, but a majority of my revolver dry firing is done in double action because it is difficult and I want to be better at it. That said, I actively attempt to minimize sight misalignment, but you can only get so good at that. So, my goal is to take up a majority of the trigger...

    What holsters should I make?

Tak, there is a serious dearth in Sig P210 holster makers. So much so that I have given up and figure, I will have to make my own. You asked.

Slim, which variations of the MR-73 are rare in France?

    First revolver! MR-73

I bet those Trausch grips help a lot with recoil.

    First revolver! MR-73

Congrats, on your first revolver! I believe that is a Gendarmarie model, which is one that would be issued to one of France's elite police units. I have a Sport model chambered in .32 Long, but I have my eyes on a 4" Gendarmarie model. How did you find that specimen, if you don't mind sharing?

Thanks for sharing your project and for the history lesson. Very well done.

    Why no new, old revolvers?

The laws of the free market is what answers the OP's question. A study of the market (gunsmithing and aftermarket parts included with manufacturers) would suggest the 1911 as the overwhelming classic American semi-auto. The public has already decided that Mr. Browning's design satisfies every...

    Hiking and Backpacking Guns

Thanks for the post, backed up with real experience. You gave me some better ideas for holster rigs. Keep it up and let everyone else think that 48 is one foot in the grave!

Heat treating process to make handguns capable of using heavy loads.

I am a tyro, but the subject of metallurgy is very interesting to me as it relates to the general subject of weapons. I'll add this, one property that manufacturers really look at is machineability. In others words, how fast can we kick these parts out without having to change cutters. While...

    4" Colt Python find

I found an old thread by Dfariswheel about the Python lockup. He said that if you force it enough, you will get the cylinder to move. His point was gently check the cylinder for play. I think I was little too forceful, but I will check next time I am there.

    4" Colt Python find

The play is with hammer cocked, trigger pulled and then hammer lowered, then I check side to side play.

    4" Colt Python find

Local GS has a 4" Python for $1200. The bluing is about 95% with original grips. While initially I was quite excited, the gun has side to side play at full lockup. Now the question is, what is a reasonable offer to make once I point this out? What is the going rate for this repair that I can...
