    Grease

    I use Lubriplate 105 grease on my slides and Rem Oil on the parts that rotate... This goes for all of my pistols. My 1911 runs best wet and my polys run best on the dry side.

    Best Caliber That Never Took-off

    +1 for the 6mm Remington. I love this round and it's better than the .243. I just wish I could get it in a greater range of bullets. The only one I can find is 100gr. by Remington or Federal.

    Gun Grease

    Grease or Oil If it slides, use grease. I use Lubraplate 105. The stuff mechanics use to rebuild engines. It keeps the bearings from damage until the oil gets there. Pick it up at NAPA in a tube for about $10 and it will be enough to last you a lifetime. Makes my 1911 slide feel like it is...

    slide rail lubrication: oil vs. grease

    I use both... If the surfaces slide together, like my 1911 slide, I use grease. If the surfaces spin or rotate, like my wheel guns, I use oil. Grease: Lubraplate 105 Oil: Rim Oil for a light weight oil or Hopps oil for a thicker lube.
