I have gone to wet tumbling with stainless pins for media , nothing airborn. It is a bit costly to setup but it does a great job . I use a universal decapping die and then run the brass through the tumbler . it cleans the primer pockets and the brass come out like new . I dont think it is quite...
I have used the the same starretts for so many years , They were not cheap and I don't think there were any cheap chinese ones around . I paid about $60 for a 6 inch set about 35 years ago
My personal favorite is my Freedom arms model 83 in 454 with a 10 inch barrel . With my handloads it comes very close to 1 inch 5 shot groups at 50 meters . thats scoped and from a rest , I think somebody with better skills could produce one inch groups at 100 meters . The Freedom arms locks up...
I use the same lee press and load rifle ammo and can hold run outs of less than .002 . I will turn the case several times in the process of seating a bullet . My thought is to have a loose case holder and the die will line up . Have you checked case run out at the neck of the brass prior to...
My first center fire handgun was a blued ruger bisley in 45 colt with a 7 1/2 inch barrel , I shot alot of rounds through that gun and really enjoyed it . Enough so that i wanted a duplicate in stainless , well at the time ruger did not offer one in stainless so i bought the peices to put one...
I tore apart my reloading room twice looking for my 22k hornet bras , once fireformed and all the prep work done and ready to load . Turned up in the spare tumbler that had been moved to a out of the way spot , found them of course when i needed to run that second tumbler
I have seen a few after market grips made of Corian , I located some 3/4 inch thick bone (looks like old ivory) corian with the intention of making grips for a couple of my revolvers . Are there any big draw backs to using corian ? any experiance ?
I am not a collector and sold the guns that i had that would be considered collector grade and bought shooter grade guns .
I myself would sell it or at least not fire it , It will go up in value since its a colt and a model that will never be produced again, I like to see the collector grade...
These 41 bisleys are something I have wanted for some time , now there here and I am trying to talk myself into not buying one , I have a good assortment of powerful single action revolvers and this one fills no niche . Its just a matter of WANT
I have a FA 454 with a 4 3/4 inch barrel , I have also shot the 500 S&W with 440 corbon loads . I just dont get all this hype on the net about the recoil from eithere of these . Sure they got some pop but I am waiting for more.
I do own 1 contender barrel that has a brake , Out of consideration for the other people at the range I go to I seldom use that barrel .
