    Sig Mosquito problem

I heard bug spray is good for mosquito issues. Just kidding. Had to. You definitely should have Sig fix it. Get in contact with them.

Will Striker Fired Pistols w/ Short and Light Triggers Cause More Acc Discharges ?

There is always a portion of the population that isn't quite as proficient or careful as they should be when they use any dangerous thing. People who use striker fired pistols are more likely to accidentally fire their gun in a few different situations. So, if more people buy striker fired...

Holding the slide while the shot goes off

OP: I would certainly look for a way to fire my gun into my attacker before I worried about a disarm attempt. e.g. If a mugger holds me up and asks for my money I can feign fear and scream, "Oh please God don't kill me! Here, this is everything I have!" Then I would pretend like I was reaching...

Having trouble aligning sights when shooting both eyes open

OP: So, I did some more both eyes open practice and I noticed that I didn't observe things closely enough. If I focus on the front sight there will be two targets, one front sight and two rear sights. Only one rear sight will have the front sight inside it. Why is this? Because your...

Having trouble aligning sights when shooting both eyes open

@Drail: Right, so if I am supposed to be focusing on the front sight I will see two targets if I keep both of my eyes open. When I aim at the target on the right my shots hit to the right of the real target. If I aim at the target on the left my shots hit to the left of the real target. So I...

Having trouble aligning sights when shooting both eyes open

OP: I have experienced the same thing. I am confident that I have figured it out, though. The reason why is because if you shoot with both eyes open and you focus on the front sight... there will be two targets. The target is big and it isn't in focus so the "two targets" overlap and blur...

How much better is the H&K p30, than the Walther PPQ

I would trade my Sig in for a P30 in a heart beat if HK offered it with a "short reset trigger" option like what is available for Sigs. HKs can have LEM triggers or DA/SA but neither one of them seem to have a trigger reset comparable to Sigs with SRT, Glocks, PPQs, 1911s, etc. They all seem to...

    Single Stack 9mm

I think the XDS, Kahr, or Walther PPS are good choices. The Shield has a safety (that is recessed... so more difficult to actuate naturally than a 1911 safety). I prefer not having a safety at all. But, hey, 1911s have the nicest triggers around and a 9mm 1911 is sure to have no recoil compared...

    Condition 1

@9mmepiphany: Is that by number of pistols designed that way or by number sold? The P9S is definitely a cool looking gun. I have never heard of it before.

    Condition 1

@C0untZer0: The P7 isn't cocked until you squeeze it and it has no manual thumb safety. So, that means it can't be cocked or on safe when you carry it. Do you have one? How do you like it? @9mmepiphany: The P9S looks like it has a M9-style safety. Do you like that safety or the more common...

    Condition 1

@C0untZer0: Sure, if I could make a poll long enough. I figured it would be easier for people to just state the gun they would bet their life on if it had to be a gun that would have to carry in condition 1. @.357 magnum: They make XD(M)s with thumb safeties? How do you carry them in...

    Condition 1

Cool. Thanks for the fast replies so far. Just clarifying for everyone... I just wanted to know what people would trust their life on in the world of guns that are capable of condition 1 carry. Just curious. I'm not asking if condition 1 is safe or not (it is IMHO). I'm not asking people to...

    Condition 1

@ATLDave: No, just which semi-auto pistol would you bet your life on to carry for your protection, with the only restraint being that it has to be carried in condition 1. They are all plenty safe in my eyes.

New M&P9... First thing I did..

I have a new M&P 9 with the new version of the slide catch. The bump they put on the new slide catch helps solve the nearly nonexistent tactile reset issue the older M&Ps had. I still replaced the trigger with an aluminum AEK trigger. I have no idea why S&W thought it was a good idea to give...

    Condition 1

Which one gun would you choose to bet your life on if you had to carry it in condition 1? 1911, 2011, HK USP, CZ 75, FNX, and so on and so forth. New, old, anything goes. You don't have to choose from what I listed. Any gun you want. I repeat, any gun that is capable of condition 1 carry. I...

A reason why we are losing

@JohnKSa: Language doesn't work very well if people decide to come up with their own individual definition for any given word, especially if it changes from moment to moment throughout a discussion. In a formal debate (again... not proposing anybody is held to that standard) if there are...

A reason why we are losing

Whoa. Apparently I took too long of a break from this thread. @JohnKSa: No, one man's argument is not another man's debate. They are two different words with two different definitions for a reason. You also seem to think a debate is when two people half-heartedly state their opinions and...

How dangerous would a Glock be sans trigger safety?

@fiftybmg: I understand what you mean now. Some people (not you) are trying to assert that a trigger safety serves to prevent the trigger from being unintentionally pulled. I have to agree with them. My point is that a trigger safety doesn't do a good job serving in that role. I assert that it...
