How has further testing with this small lot of Data73 powder worked out for you guys? Ive had good results using 24.5 grs behind a 55gr SP in 223. I havent chrono ed it (don't have one) or tested it with anything heavier yet like a 69 or 75gr pill. Anyone else?
I finally bought a piece of land that I can safly shoot .22s into the side of a large hill behind my house. It will give me about a 35-45yrd range straight out and I can go farther if I shoot up hill. Anyway, Im looking for ideas and pictures of your home shooting ranges with any houses/benches...
What is the actual difference(what does it do differently) between competion dies and regular dies? Does it seat the bullets differntly? Thanks for any help.
I just ordered 32 pounds of it so I guess Ill be reporting back soon with my results. Its just too cheap right now to pass up. Worst case is that I can make a ton of blasting ammo but from what Ive read on various boards, this is good stuff. Id still be interested in anyone elses findings...
Does anyone know where I might find pictures or instructions as to where and how much to polish these types of match triggers for optimal performance? I dont want to go at it without some guidance. Thanks
I have had very similar results to G56's. I use 25.5 gr 2230-c with the hornady 55sp and get them all touching at 100yrds. Im using a 1-8 twist Heavy AR barrel. For me the 2230c has shot just as welll as any other I have tried for 100yds anyway. Its cheap because it is pulled surplus powder...
I have been fighting with a mauser build with a ParkerHale 308 heavy barrel. I have the action glass bedded to the stock and 1 inch under the barrel, the rest floated. I get two shots touching then a third, forth fifth in all directions. Tried differnt hand loads and always the same thing...

Has anyone used this yet? powder valley has it cheap right now. I deciding on which powder to stock up on and its between this and 2230-c(for 223 and 308 loads) any feedback on experiences with either? Thanks
I just experienced the same problem with the .223 brass. I found that in one certain batch there where alot of flashholes off center and it was becoming a major pain in the . I scrapped the remaining PMC headstamped brass to save the aggrivation. I had used a small amount of their brass...

Who has the best deals on suitable surplus powder for 308s? Im trying to find little ways to cut back on powder expenses. Right now Im paying 19 out the door for h4895 from local store and want to find a less expensive alternative if possible. Thanks
It depends on who made the die sets. You could go to midwayusa.com and compare what the two sets go for new then deteremine how "used" they are and price accordingly. A new two die set from Lee is around 10$ plus shipping but other companies can be substantially (sp) higher.
