What is the last gun that you bought?

While not much more than a paperweight right now, by law it is a firearm. Funny how that works. Anyway, a Detroit Gun Works lower.

What is the last gun that you bought?

I've gotten a lot of teasing for all of my "black guns", so I got my first 1911 (though still black). A Remington R1 Enhanced...

It's not that easy to get a PI license in Michigan.

SB 59 clears MI Senate Judiciary Committee....

From handgunlaw.us: "MSU, UM and WSU have special status in the MI Constitution and elect their Board of Regents. Since they are elected the state preemption law does not apply to Michigan State University, University of Michigan and Wayne State University. They can pass Ordinances that ban...

SB 59 clears MI Senate Judiciary Committee....

Which absolutely should happen. These are public schools paid for by public funds. They shouldn't be able to make their own laws.

SB 59 clears MI Senate Judiciary Committee....

Nope. Study up on U-M and MSU. They make their own laws.

SB 59 clears MI Senate Judiciary Committee....

Though it won't change your life much in Ann Arbor. Even if the law is changed, it won't affect U-M property, which is half of Ann Arbor.

SB 59 clears MI Senate Judiciary Committee....

You should actually read the article posted above. Especially the part about eliminating the gun boards.

To carry or not to carry OC Spray, that is the question.

I usually carry both. Largely for four-legged control when I'm out with my dogs. But also for those times I'm forced to leave the gun in the car when entering a criminal empowerment zone.

    Flashlight on home defense guns

Any decent weapon light provides enough light that you could point it at the wall behind you, or the floor, or the ceiling, or pretty much anywhere else and it'll still provide plenty of light. There's no need to point it directly at anyone. But that seems so self-evident I'm not sure why...

    Best-LOOKING polymer-frame handgun

Maybe the FN 5.7, though for a much more common gun, any XDM or Walther looks pretty darn good to me.

    The legality of handguns

First, the obvious one, it's not possible to get all guns away from criminals. So making them illegal only hurts the good guys. Duh. Second, and at least as important, is that even if gun violence could be eliminated, what about other crimes? Rape certainly isn't going to go down. A gun...

Taking a hoplophobe to the range.

If possible, make her first trip an outdoor range instead of indoor. Aside from the fact that the noise is less obnoxious, it also feels MUCH more natural and less threatening. There's something far more scary about indoor ranges for most people.

Activism In Support or Against Private Business

The certification and licensing (only in the states that require it) is the result of those who wish we didn't have the right. And many of us consider those laws and requirements unconstitutional. The RIGHT to bear arms is spelled out in the Second Amendment. Again, no such thing exists as...

Activism In Support or Against Private Business

Apples and oranges. Your right to life (and the right to self defense) is addressed in the US Constitution. The Constitution says nothing about driving a car? If the 2nd Amendment wasn't in the constitution, this "privilege", as you call it, would have been gone a long time ago.

Activism In Support or Against Private Business

I'm not positive who you're referring to. But I do think business owners have the supreme right to decide what goes on in their stores, because that's what freedom means. But living in a free society also means that we shape the goods and services available to us by choosing where and how we...
