Keep in mind the barrels on these are "two-piece" barrels. I've had a 7.62x25 M57 for a couple years and just this year I noticed that 'crack' too. I took it to my gunsmith and he immediately id'd that as the seam for the two barrel pieces. This may be what you're seeing also.
Well, I just finished polishing up an old(er) S&W model 60. It's a 1987 vintage turn-in from the Georgia Dept. of Corrections. It had a nice, ugly electropencil number on the side of it which took a bit of work to remove:
Just picked up a used Model 60 (GA Dept of Corrections turn-in).
a) .38 Special
b) 1 7/8''
c) round butt
d) 5-shot cylinder
e) fixed sights
f) AYV87xx
g) "60"
Thanks in advance!
I bought my wife a used 2214 about a year ago. She loves it. I've been trying to get her to carry a more powerful gun but its difficult when she shoots it so well.
If I ever find a god 2213 at a good price ill probably get one for my self, too!
I'm thinking that Hornady XTP load is the best out there right now. I've seen a couple recent YouTube ballistic Gel tests that show good performance being replicated by this round.
I currently use a load by Georgia Arms (they're local to me, but available for order), that uses the Speer...
I noticed they are starting to import these new in 7.62x25 (M57), and 9mm now. I have a very old 7.62 one and I like it. It shoots great and is very, very easy to work on. Breaks down just like a 1911 and the entire trigger group just lifts out and is interchangeable with any other Tokarev...
This has been a pet peeve of mine ever since I learned these initialisms. I have always advocated using 'FTX' for Failure to extract and FTE for Failure to eject.
Now, what to do about FTF?
I've also got the same stainless Camper URX as millertyme. My wife loves shooting it - says that URX grip fits like a glove.
First handgun I ever bought and it is still the one I shoot the very best.
Stoney, after seeing your Colt's I almost didn't want to post mine.
But, after seeing all those awesome Ruger DA Sixes, I thought I'd go ahead and post this one that I just finished Rust Blue re-finishing:

While not a Makarov, I carry my P-64 in my car (in a safe) as my "left the house without my gun" gun. Awsomely accurate, but it tears up the top of my shooting hand thumb knuckle at the range.
