    Open Carry- I CAN!

One thing you can say about CC vs OC, is that a concealed handgun is only a reactionary tool. Until you pull it, you look like any other easy prey. Most street thugs tend to think twice about assailing an armed individual, and most think OC'ers are off duty cops at least initially. There are...

BCM upper... Issues or is this typical?

I love this rifle! Thanks for all the replies fellas. To be clear, I have been very happy with this rifle, and would purchase the same configuration again if this one was stolen. I was candid in describing my lack of experience with the platform, so the guys taking the time out of their...

BCM upper... Issues or is this typical?

Thanks for the replies guys. Somehow I knew I'd get blasted for feeding cheap crap in a nice rifle ;) I have never bought the steel cased ammo, the rounds I had trouble with were handed to me at the range because I wanted to experiment a little bit and didn't believe doing so would damage...

BCM upper... Issues or is this typical?

It's funn you mention the gas tube because while cleaning my rifle I always look at the tube and think to myself, "How the hell do you clean THAT thing?!" So, how do you make sure the gas tube isn't getting clogged up? Or better put, how do you clean it when it does get dirty? The rifle is...

BCM upper... Issues or is this typical?

I'm new to the AR system, first of all. I put together a rifle recently, with the largest component being a complete BCM EAG upper half. It's a 14.5 mid with pinned brake. This one: http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-EAG-14-5-BFH-Mid-Length-Upper-Receiver-LaRue-p/bcm-uh-eag1.htm I've...

Flying with guns - can anything else be in the locked gun case

You can put whatever else you have room for in there, there are no restrictions on what else can go in the case. Ammo has to be in the original factory box, and I believe the quantity limit on it is by weight. You can't get more than a box or two through. As long as you're not flying into...

    Favorite polymer pistol poll

My all time fave is my 1911. But to stay on topic: They're all nice shooters. I personally prefer my XDm's. And it's really not based on superior accuracy or quality, just preference in ergos and triggers. Got a 9 for plinking and a 45 for duty carry. Also have several all steel guns.

Best Gun Shop in the NC Triangle

Bruce is friendly and fair for sure. He's willing to order just about anything for you at competitive pricing as well. I also shop at Mace Sports in Mebane. Much larger, mostly very good customer service, and a really really wide selection of handguns, rifles, shotguns.

Rimfire practice is paying off BIG time

I have all kinds of crap hanging out there. I really liked "Hickok45's" youtube videos where he has about 2 dozen gongs, swingers, silhouettes etc. What I do, because it's VERY cheap, is head off to the metal scrap yard and buy random pieces of metal. I-beams and the rectangular tubes...

    Midway Range Bag WOW

I have one and love it. I think I paid around 50 bucks for it. It holds EVERYTHING. Lots of little pockets and holders for pistol mags, cleaning tools, elastic straps lining the inside of the big side pocket are great for sticking in little screwdrivers, felt pens for marking targets etc...

The Gun You Would Trust your Life To

The only one I DON'T trust my life with is my Taurus 92. It has several maladies the worst of which is 3-4% light primer strikes. I'm confident that Taurus will take care of me, I've just been too lazy lately to box it up and send it off. But if I had to grab something quick and head out...

Rimfire practice is paying off BIG time

As to the choir comments, I know! Haha, I was really just excited to find something working so well for me, and not to mention how much fun shooting is when you don't hear that "CHA CHING" cash register sound every time you send a 230gr downrange. When I miss with my 45 I feel like I threw 35...

Rimfire practice is paying off BIG time

I bought a Buckmark .22 pistol on Friday. It has really pretty contoured rosewood grips, and a fiber optic front sight. I have 3,450 rounds through this pistol. Again, bought it Friday! I have never felt myself gaining skill as quickly as I have this weekend. I normally shoot 9's and 45's...

    Hughes Amendment Repeal?

I don't even want one (from a realistic, $$ standpoint) But I want the right and means to procure one as a free man.

Will there be a change from Concealed Carry to Open Carry?

"Constitutional carry" is the only thing that will satisfy me, in all states. But I think that will take some time. And that's a crying shame.

Charged with resisting for failure to produce id

Here's an added detail: the hypothetical person being arrested only speaks in polite tones, with a yes sir and no sir response, even if an LEO refers to him as a <deleted> in return. This person was calm and cool during the entire process, actually you could accurately describe his demeanor as...

Charged with resisting for failure to produce id

Do you really mean not related to my question? The quoted TX statute is just an example of what a "stop and identify" law can look like. That one is specific to arrest but others include requirements during Terry Stops. But forget about that for a second if it helps, it's not a great...
