    Scope newbie

I'm in the market for a scope for a Savage 10FP. Now, I know next to nothing about scopes, so I'm asking all of you about a quality scope. I definitely want something that's going to gather light when it starts to get dark. Are there any really good scope deals for the money out there?

    The legality of handguns

Thanks fellas. I spoke to him again today (he called me about it). It took much less time for me to get tired of the conversation. He said that he was surprised at some of the results, but he needs to look up more information (he's in grad school and thinks that his research approaches can be...

Also another good question to ask him.

    The legality of handguns

You know what man, I may just do that. I also looked up some statistics on the UK, whose crime rate is pretty garbage.. I've sent him a link to that, and he may or may not come around, but I'm not going to put too much effort into that.

    The legality of handguns

Definitely agree with everything you guys are saying, and I brought much of what is being said up to him. One thing that I believe is relevant is that this is a single, young male. I told him that he may very well feel different if he were married and had kids. Again, he can't really grasp...

    The legality of handguns

I did mention to him about using them in sports. He's not really into that stuff, so it's difficult for him to understand when I tell him that it's fun to go out shooting.

    The legality of handguns

I went through several things with him. He said that the government is supposed to protect society as a whole, and he believes that handgun bans would do this. Why? Because he is sure that if handguns are made more difficult to obtain, it would lower their availability and thus lower the...

    The legality of handguns

So, I told one of my friends that I would post this question to, what I felt, was probably the best forum that I'm a member of for such a subject. I'll preface this with the fact that this particular person, I believe, has become a bit more liberal in his political views over the past several...

    W.German Sig P228 with Pics

That gun looks to be in pretty exceptional shape and could certainly fetch over $500, likely even over $600. Nice find sir. If I were into DA/SA guns, the 228 would certainly be at the top of my list.

CZ-75B ; SA, DA, or DA w or w/o decocker?

I'll echo that it's all personal preference. I'll also add that there is something to be said for having a consistent trigger pull from your first to last shot. In this case, you'd be looking at a manual safety, allowing for cocked and locked functioning, or a DAO manual of arms (not sure if...

Big +1 for Cajun Gun Works CZ spring kit

Bought the reduced power spring kit from Cajun Gun Works for my CZ P-01. Big difference. Had my gun in one hand and my dad's in the other (P-01 without the kit) and it was like night and day. Much light DA pull, especially noticeable toward the end of the pull. SA is crazy light. Put almost...

    Can't decide on a light

Going on a CZ P-01. I really want something smaller, thinking about a TLR-3, but I'm reading several stories of the plastic side breaking on some. Thoughts...suggestions?

CZ 75 finally got to hold one...

The cocking serrations on the CZs are so aggressive that racking the slide is really a non-issue. Phenomenal guns.

    Down to two...

That'd be an easy choice for me, because, much like the previous poster, I just feel that 1911's are supposed to be in 45. The Pointman will be 2.4 lbs and hold 9 rounds. The CZ will be about 2.2 lbs and hold 18 rounds (both +1 of course). I'm assuming that these won't be for carry, but for...

    FNP9 - Comments....

I have one in single-action only, and the trigger is phenomenal. I had it for sale at one point, and may put it up again because it just doesn't fit what I personally want in my current stead, though it is tough because of the combination of the trigger, weight, reliability, and accuracy. The...

    Solid information my friend.

is there a gun cleaner that will "wow" me?

Ballistol. I used to use CLP all the time, but wanted to try Balkistol for a while. Much easier on my hands, and I feel that it does a better job cleaning the gun ( even the brush is clean after using Ballistol). Leaves a nice, thin, slick residue wherever you use it.

    Good General Gunsmithing Tool Kit

I was going to post this question, but I guess I'll just piggyback on this thread. Anybody know if the Weaver kit is any good. I'm not looking to do "smith" work per se, but I would like to be able to detail strip a variety of guns (CZ, Beretta, etc.) for detailed cleaning. For roll pins...
