Does marking the turrets after zeroing do any good?

I'm still in the learning stages of scopes and such, so I have this question. I once had the Bushnell scope on my .22 zeroed with the help of a veteran. After he got the scope zeroed, he marked the turrets with a permanent marker. My question is, does this really do any good? The next year...

    Budget chamber bore sight

I recently purchased a Sight-Rite chamber Laser Bore Sighter for my .243 WIN at my local Academy. It worked great at first, but now is giving me problems. It either won't turn on, or is not bright. it seems as though the spring will not allow the batteries to make good contact...cheap design I...

    .22 Marlin bolt action info.

Thanks! Thank you for the info! Since I've never owned one like this before, I wasn't aware that I had to pull the plunger back in order to fire it. It works fine! I can't wait to shoot it!!

I won't. I just wanted to see if it was functional, I didn't have any empty cases around :( I don't think dry firing is good for any gun...

    .22 Marlin bolt action info.

Marlin forum According to the members that replied to my post there, it is a Marlin model 100. The good thing is that I did some research on those and the rifle is not broken. It is a plunger type that must be pulled back in order to cock it. I dry fired it and it works fine! I can't wait to...

    .22 Marlin bolt action info.

Correct It is a single shot. When I pull the bolt back, there is no resistance at all. However, to remove the bolt, I have to squeeze the trigger. How do I know if the trigger is adjustable? I will try to get a picture of the action posted ASAP. If you have anymore questions, let me know.

I have recently acquired an old Marlin .22 bolt action. I am unable to find out any information since I don't see a model number stamped on the gun. The only writing is "The Marlin Firearms Corporation New Haven Conn. USA Patented .22 S, L & LR" Perhaps if anyone can find a picture of a rifle...

    Ear protection

Much appreciated! Thanks to all who took the time to give input! I have decided to use my Winchester ear muffs that I got from Walmart last year. Since I already broke the bank for this rip, I think they'll do the job....they work great for my 12 gauge. I'll place them on the top of my head and...

    Ear protection

I will be going deer hunting for the first time in a few days. My cousin that is taking me has been hunting for 50 plus years. He told me that it would be to my benefit to not wear ear plugs or muffs because I will not be able to hear the deer when they start to walk around in our hunting area...

    Butt-stock extension

It's a sporting goods store. They sale used as well as new firearms, ammo, camping supplies, etc. I can post a link to their Facebook page if you're interested. I believe that he changed a part on the gun and lied, stating that all it needed was a cleaning and the bore to be polished. But after...

    Butt-stock extension

Fixed, but at a price.... I mentioned that I brought it back to the owner, thinking that he'd make good on my purchase. I picked it up yesterday and it shoots just fine now. He charged me $76 to clean it, when I had already cleaned it from top to bottom. Not sure what he did differently that my...
