    150-88XXX serial Security Six

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you're not going to find any grips that will fit your 150 series Security Six. That series has a different grip shape than the 151 and up series, and no company's make a stock grip for that frame. If you want different grips, they'll have to be custom made.

    service six good grip question?

For starters, I'd go back to Numrich and order a Grip Panel Dowel (Part 25 under Security-Six), since you said you are missing this part. Myself, I prefer the Pachmayr Gripper grips, have them on both of my Security-Six's.

    I bought a Swedish Mauser

Pay attention to the headspacing, as the gunsmith with be using SAAMI gauges, and will likely tell you it shows excess headspace. The Dutchman Rebooty has a page pertaining to this that is a must read.

Pics of new toy, 1916 Spanish Mauser

With the 93 action Mauser rifle, check the headspace with a "Field" guage. They will often show as exessive with the "Go" "No-Go" guages, as the chambers were oversize to accommidate loose spec military rounds. If it closes with the "Field" guage, then the headspace is exessive.

Pre-98 Mausers and case rupture safety?

For the Kimber rifles, you need to find a set of Warne scope bases. The Kimber's were set-up for use of these bases. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/322887/warne-maxima-2-piece-steel-weaver-style-scope-base-swedish-mauser-96-small-ring-unaltered-with-stripper-clip-bridge-gloss...

    Rem 700 in 6.5x55 Swedish - thoughts?

The best part of this thread, I have both the Remington 700 Classic and the Winchester Featherlight in 6.5x55 sitting unfired in my safe. My custom sporterized 96 Mauser is working just fine for me as my deer rifle, can't see breaking in the other two for no reason.

Ruger Ninety-Six 44 mag followed me home today

Congratulations on picking up a great little rifle. I own one of these, and it's one of my favorite rifles for deer hunting. Mine has factory Ruger rings, and a Busnell 3x9x40 scope mounted on it, and in this configuration, it is super fast handlng and easy to get off a fast shot. Since I've...

    03-A3 Identification Question

From what I'm finding online, this serial number was allocated to Remington for 03-A4 production: "On 20 June 1943 an additional 8,365 M1909A4 rifles were ordered. "Block" for these rifles and possible future orders were 4922001 5784000. After this block had been used to 4997045, receiver...

    03-A3 Identification Question

I've got an 03-A3 rifle that my father built for me back in the 1970's, and I'm trying to figure out who manufactured the receiver on it. I really would hate to have to take the scope and scope base off to see if there are any markings underneath, so let's see if we can do this by using just...

looking for single action revolvers for cowboy mounted shooting

Cimmiron Arms Model "P" JR., anybody have one?

Eddism, Sounds like you broke the sear off of your trigger, or broke your sear and bolt spring, very easy to do when "fanning" a SAA pistol. The sear on these type of revolvers was not meant for fanning, they are meant to be set by cocking the hammer back properly before pulling the trigger...

Ruger BLACKHAWK / VAQUERO grip question

Your New Model Blackhawk, made in 2000, uses the Blackhawk style grip. The New Vaquero grip is a smaller grip frame, more Colt sized than the Blackhawk frame.

Media That Influenced You To Buy A Gun?

Sig P238 or Walther PPK or PPK/S

I prefer the Walther PPK/S for my needs. Have owned a PP in .32 ACP, a PPK (Interarms), and two PPK/S's (Interarms). My current PPK/S is a blued model, and I feel very confident in my shooting abilities with this pistol. For me, the pistols point naturally when drawn, and fit my hand well...

Which .357 lever action should I buy this weekend?

My preference goes to the Marlin 1894 rifles. The Marlins are a side eject rifle, vs a top eject for the Rossi/Puma (scope/peep sight/optics are very easy to mount, not so with a top eject rifle). Also, for ease of cleaning and maintenance, the Marlin is very easy to take down and clean from...

Finally Found One (Marlin 1894C .357)

Although the Marlin 1894C is marked .38/.357, it will have a preference for a certain OAL cartridge length. Some only like to cycle with .357 length cartridges, some like to cycle with .38 length cartridges. My Marlins have run best with an AOL of 1.5" (between a .38 and a .357). Your best...
