reduced recoil load for 7mm-08,,, or any round

I've loaded .243 Winchester reduced loads as well as .30-06 Springfield reduced loads. Both were for smaller shooters. I use H4895 for these loads. I also load a .30-30 Winchester load with lead from local supplier, now MBC coated, with both H4895 and IMR4227. I like the IMR powder better for...

30-30, coated 165g Missouri Bullet, powder choice?

I've used IMR-4227 with the MBC hi-tek 165 grain bullet. I like it so much I bought another pound of powder so I don't run out. Lyman manual has load data and I found it works well for me.

    Favorite loads for 270 Winchester?

Max loads of IMR-4831 have worked better for me than anything else. If I recall correctly, 56 grains with a 130 grain bullet. YMMV

Powder puff .38spcl loads for a LCR

Personally, I would stop using XTP bullets for target practice. I would use a plated bullet with win231 and not look back. Cleaner than lead for only a penny more. Xtreme bullets are nice and so are Berry's bullets. I load 3.5 grains of 231 with a 158 grain plated bullet for a soft practice round.

    Reloading the .22-250

I've have success using Varget powder in my .22-250 Remington. I use 34.5 grains of powder behind a 53 grain A-Max bullet for excellent groups. I also use CCI Large Rifle Match primers, turn my necks, uniform primer pockets, and de-burr flash holes. I think it's around 3600 fps, but I don't have...

CZ 527 impressions and 22 Hornet reloading questions

Have you tried the 46 grain Winchester JHP bullets? Probably more expensive than 40 grain V-Max, but they should be the factory bullet for Winchester ammo. Also, Barnes makes a 30 grain Varmint Grenade bullet specifically for the hornet. They shoot excellent for me with Lil'Gun.

    Anyone Loading 7.62X39 ?

I've been lucky enough to have been given about 40-50 pieces of boxer primed, brass cased, once-fired range pick-ups from a buddy of mine. I don't have bullets or dies and probably have around 150 rounds of brown bear ammo to use first. If I came across a set of dies cheap enough, I would load...

Need advice... 270 win starting load....

I think your hunting range should be a consideration as well. A light bullet up close may cause superficial damage (blow-up) and a heavy bullet may not give you the desired trajectory for long range shooting. I had a 130 grain Hornady SST blow-up at 180 yard broadside shot that destroyed much of...

    Favorite powder for 25-06

I found that my rifle shoots great with Reloader 22. I get great groups and fantastic velocity with a very minimal spread between shots. I like it a lot.

    Need a soft .38 load...

I typically use W231 at 3.5 grains with a 158 grain plated or lead bullet. Works great for reduced recoil.

Looking for "light" 44 Mag loads with 200 gr LFN

Great article in the current Handloader {magazine # 293 page 58} about loading 44 mag for lightweight handguns. Some load info is as follows: Using a RIMROCK 200 grain hard cast RNFP bullet set to 1.573" Trail Boss----->6.5 grains --------> 841 fps Clays----->4.5 grains...

FL Resize 30-30 or Bump Shoulders For Hunting

I only use a FL die setting for .30-30 WCF in a lever-action. You could adjust the die incrementally while attempting to chamber the brass in your rifle between adjustments. When you feel like its where you want it, you could set the lock ring and keep your setting.

    223/5.56 Trim, measurment, Mental malfunction!

While I'm sure your ammo will turn out fine, I can't help but spot an opportunity here to bring up the problems associated with brass that is trimmed too short. It happens more commonly to magnum rifle calibers due to excessive flame temp, but I'm sure it could affect others as well...
