Some North Carolina State University students are wearing empty gun holsters on campus this week to protest a state law prohibiting...
I just bought a (1952 receiver) Springfield Garand that has an SA National Match barrel and am going to shoot it for the first time. I have a small amount of Lake City ammo and am planning to buy either LC or Greek from CMP.
What is your experience with these two? Which is more accurate? Is...
Story and pic: Thought I was going to buy a rifle, but a West German Sig...
I went to the local indoor range today. I've been "obsessing" about getting a Beretta CX4 in 9mm, thinking that I needed a carbine. So, I figured that I'd better shoot my M1 Carbine today. And, I wanted to try my Sig...
All these years later, I find these permits in a small box of keepsakes. I was 19 in '67. I was obviously smarter at 19 than 22! :D
Sure wish I still had that #48578 Colt Commander in .38 Super! :banghead:
Hey William, you out there? William?
Only these two choices, ladies and gentlemen.
I've owned Rugers and still have a new Hunter, and I've shot a Browning model. Just want a "bottom feeder."
Which one and why?

I know there have been posts about this before, but...
After reading about the short trigger experiences of others on THR and the Sig forum, I ordered one and installed it. I'm very happy with the change. My finger/trigger position is improved because of it. More reading led me to order the...
April 6 UPDATE:
I guess that I should have searched better. I'll simply open carry.

It's in the eye of the beholder. Let's FEAST!
Show off your 1911.
Smith and Wesson 1911 and Kimson Buffalo Horn Dragon grips.
Colt Series 80 and Altamont rosewood grips.
Some might remember that I posted three mockups with a poll in which I asked you to vote which
of my 1911s looked best with the grips. Here's that post:

Well, I tried them on the Colt, Smith, and Dan Wesson. I thought for sure I'd go with...
I don't have them yet, so I quickly made this mockup, which is a bit sloppy, but you get the idea. Both the Colt and Smith are actually closer to the darkest of gray colors before becoming black. The "green gray" on the Smith is misleading...
Oh, and if you hate them and want to tell me I...
Well, I did. I needed some dough and sold it to my dear friend and fellow THR member Ulflyer. he knew how well it shot and always teased me about when I was going to sell it to him. I told him never! Of course, one should "never say never."
So, one day, in need of some quick cash, I sold...
Can this be true? Sheesh! Perhaps the story is innacurate and it wasn't an "air rifle." If true, more fodder for the caliber wars!

For years, I've had a shotgun and pistols as the primary HD weapons. But now I own a Colt AR-15 A3 (Had an AR years ago but..). Somehow I can't imagine relying on an AR inside the home (modest home, we're talking about distances of 15-30 feet in most cases). Seems to me that no matter what...
In light of the VT murders, many antis fear those of us who have a right to our firearms and obtain them through legal means. The following story once again shows that bad guys could care less about gun laws...

I've read about this Judge and his keeping a gun in his courtroom, but now there's (potentially) some real good news!

I have owned two Ruger Single Six revolvers, both stainless. Sold 'em both, the first too long ago to remember why I sold it and the second because it was a 6.5" model and I want a 5.5".
That said, although I totally understand the advantages of stainless, I'm thinking of a blued model...
Given the wound to the perps face, I'd say a shotgun was used.
Good for him for protecting himself and his home.
