Thanks, I lucked out and had near perfect shooting conditions that day. Went for the small circles between small puffs of wind. Usually when you get a day off, it's gusting 30+. Gotta work today, so of course it's almost calm out there.

^^At first glance I thought it was a 54 SuperMatch but the bolt handle is too far forward. I figured out what it is, but I ain't tellin.:D Nice rifle. 2/22/12 edit: (Just for the record, I thought it was a 37 too).

In January it's rare to get decent weather on those days when you have time to shoot. I'm sure participation will pick up as the weather improves. Spring isn't too far off.

Excellent, Mav. Those little circles near the top aren't much bigger than the bullet. I found a Marlin XT-22VR at Cabelas a few weeks ago, but I haven't had a chance to shoot it from a bench yet. Hope to try it in the Rimfire Match sometime soon.

FWIW,,, I recently got my 3 x 9 3200 Elite back from Bushnell. Since I previously mentioned that I'd had a problem with it not holding adjustment, I thought I would put in a good word for their excellent customer service. They were helpful and courteous on the phone and repaired my scope...

Ok. The 06 might be the most versatile. But I think my 7 Mag is more perseverant.

I didn't see a question in the opening post, but....... If, by versatile, you mean more bullet weight options, then you're probably right. But something a little faster, with a flatter trajectory might reduce the margin of error in estimating drop, and retain more energy at longer ranges...

I use my Anschutz for offhand shooting practice, and for 50' indoor matches during the winter. But most importantly, for the Rimfire Match here at THR!!!

If you can't take a firearm, invite someone you and your wife can both outrun. Good fishing is worth taking a few risks!

Good idea! Had a chance to shoot a couple of these targets with my 54 this afternoon. Almost nailed the star on this one, but not quite. Looks like a 15 to me. Shot from a bench (picnic table) Wolf MT, 50 yds,15X Happy New Year y'all.

I stand for case trimming only, For the rest of the operation I use a small round stool that adjusts for height, it doesn't take up much space and easily fits under the bench,

The 92FS I had was very reliable. But, I had an AMT Automag II that had the same problems you described. The problem was caused by weak springs. The gunsmith didn't charge much to replace the springs and I never had a problem with it after that.

The more you hunt deer the more you admire them. IMO Around here, deer would become overpopulated and starve during the winter, or get hit by cars if it not for deer hunters. Harvesting wild game is no less ethical than buying a bigmac from a drive-thru.
