    Steyr Scout or not?

Scout I have two Steyrs. One has the scope in the conventional position so I have used them both ways. I also have the old version of the Ruger scout and a Marlin 45/70 scout. just bought the Ruger with plans to run a suppressor on it. Can't bring myself to thread the Steyrs. I think the...

Best way to sell a gun collection

Looks like consigning to an FFL might be the bet on short time frame. You can likely get 85% of their price and not have to take a big hit by dumping them.

    postage stamp saigas

The "ring" was put into the Saiga rifles so the Russians can tell if a "military" or a "civilian" rifle has been fired at a location. Later runs do not have it.

    1811?

"The ONLY anachronistic part on this gun which makes it seem like a photoshop spoof is the fact that the builder used a normally inletted style lock for the action and ignition source. Simply a shortcut since so many are available." Nope, he made the whole lock from scratch. Still has parts...

    postage stamp saigas

In my experience it doesn't do a thing on a stock Saiga. I can see it MAYBE as an issue if you were looking to build a Russian AK clone. But in that case the Saiga was just a glorified parts kit anyway. I did a full conversion on one of mine and it has the grind mark.

    postage stamp saigas

I think most Saigas are about as "collectible" as a WASR parts kit. Don't get me wrong, I have several. They are really a way to get around a stupid import rule.

    1811?

The stippling is in the frame. Mr. Hamilton says all parts were made in house and last made in '81. He also told me not to sell any for him as there will be no more lol. The reason the lock is forward was that there is an inline percussion version and they shared parts (yes, I want that one now).

    1811?

Rear plug is short with a hollow space inside. Balence s great but that space might be to adjust. Like I said, it is new to me.

    1811?

I will post more but the man that made it, Alex Hamilton and his company TEN-RING PRECISION, INC., are still in San Antonio. I plan to call him.

    1811?

Have not had the pleasure yet. I am told it (not me lol) can do 2.5" at 50 yards.

    1811?

Not really. This is a 10-Ring Presision .45 caliber flintlock patched round ball target pistol from the '70's. If you are like me you will smile for a minute. Just something I had to have :)

    Just One Scratch

Feeling brave? That looks like a pretty easy area to to isolate and you can LIGHTLY use a small piece of 1000 grit maybe 800 grit paper from the auto parts. Go only in the direction of the original finish, go in only one direction and don't move the paper any other way.

    .308 For Home Defense?

Zombie prevention maybe? But I do like the old Thompson machine gun ad with the cowboy on his porch blasting away. Big diference in "defending your home" and "defending IN your home".

Whats better the savage axis .308 or teh Ssavage 11FCXP3

You questions are not bad but in looking at your posts and your occupation I wonder if you are old enough to own anything you are asking about. That said, Savage has come a long way but a lot of that has to do with the Accutrigger and well worth the additional expense.

    Is Ten Rounds Enough?

My understanding is the FBI statistics for the "average" gunfight; Average number of shots fired : Three shots Average distance between participants : Three feet Average time elapsed, first to last shot fired : Three seconds.

    My AR is screwed

Yep, steel and AR's....not a match. I jamed mine on the first round and tried and jamed 3 more AR's without finishing the 20 round box.

What to look for in buying a used complete AR15 lower?

Assume you know what caliber and talking basic .223/5.56 type. Rule one; know who put it together and what was "upgraded. Look it up on the web. Name brands are easy, most others will list specs. Unless something exotic, the aluminum lower basically just holds the parts. As long as it...
