    Stag or S&W AR?

Choices I did a bunch of looking and decided on a Stag Model 3r. As is the gun is fully featured but comes without sights and included a drop in modular rail system. I bought the very cool flip sights by DiamondHead and have an Eotech XPS2 that I will co witness. The Stags imported into...

SIG P-210: Just stepped off the deep end....

I opted for a P-210 Legend Target and received just about a month or so. All my guns have been above average including a Custom 1911. I am in awe of this P-210. It is elegant beyond expectations and shoots so well it could be compared to a high end .22. I just love this gun!!!! Congrats. I...

Sig P210 vs. X-Five for target shooting

I've had a Gray tuned X-Five AR with several upgrades. It's a great gun and hard to beat depending on the discipline. I shoot IPSC with mine. It's also big and heavy but that hasn't bothered me as the weight handles S&W .40 well. I just took delivery of a new P-210 legend Target. I only had...

I finally found the FNH FNP-45 Tactical

I bought and FNP45 Competition and changed the iron sights so that I could co witness a Trijicon RMR. One of the selling points of the FNP45 is that the slide is premilled for an RDS. IMO this is an excellent arrangement. The pistol is comfortable to shoot, has great capacity and is extremely...

ok 1911 gurus, this question's for you

Try this It's not a 1911 but it covers most of your grocery list. Look at the FNP -45 in either the Tactical or Competition configuration. They are essentially the same gun but with different sights and an extended and threaded barrel on the Tac. You will get 15 + 1 rounds of 45 ACP in...

    FN45 Tactical

RDS choice I considered the Docter but thought that the controls were on the back of the housing and therefore in accessible with the tactical rear iron sight. That was the case with another brand I looked at. My other priority was to achieve co-witnessing of the RDS and irons. How did it work...

    FN45 Tactical

FNP 45 Comp I bought the Competition version but except for the threaded barrel I have changed the gun so that it is essentially the same as the Tactical version. I bought the Trijicon RMR RM02 and when I installed the taller tactical iron sights, they co witness with the RDS. I really like the...

What's your opinion on ccw for a woman?

Since none of us was born holding a handgun, I have a hard time with the notion of "feels good in the hand". Almost every non shooter that gets to handle one of my better guns reacts about the same way and says the same thing; "ohhhh that's heavy". How can someone judge how a gun fits the hand...

    FNH FNP 45 usg

Me too!! It's more comfortable to shoot than my custom 1911. Very quick to get back on target after the first shot and I love the versatility. Lot's of capacity too if you want or need it. The gun is a very pleasant surprise.

Buying one you don't need, but want!

Unless I'm mistaken, a Steelmaster is normally available just in 9 mm. If it's a custom, it's anyone's guess.

Buying one you don't need, but want!

Wants Hey who said you had to be super good in order to play? That's what boys do; it's sort of our job:evil: I'm 67 years young shoot like a newbies cuz that's what I am. As some smart guy said, "we are here for a good time, not for a long time!":p

Might be time for a .45

I just bought an FNP 45 Competition and really like it. Very accurate, very easy to control and very flexible. Do you want a good DA/SA ? You got it. Do you want a SA with a good safety and 4 # clean pull? You got it. If you miss the rifle too much then buy a nice Kriss. Way above $800 but...

ND- I am now 'that guy'

IMO no. I have had similar experiences in the fast action of IPSC Using guns with very good triggers. I have been properly positioned for a target or a followup shot and the pistol fires before I made a conscious effort. No rules were broken but the shot was not quite intentional. I put this...

ND- I am now 'that guy'

ND's Absolutely you should feel bad. Do that for an hour and move on. Clearly you are a responsible shooter or you wouldn't have posted this. I've made a few mistakes for which I felt horrible but every one of them is burned into my brain forever This was training. You wouldn't have been...

Which SIGs have smoothest DA/SA trigger?

SA/DA trigger My X-Five 40 All Round got Graygun's best treatment which produced a superb result. At the time, I had a P226 and had planned to send that for similar treatment but opted to buy their upgrade kit until the next year. The kit was about $45.00 and easy enough to install on my own...

Anyone else like VZ grips on their 1911s? *** Pic heavy***

VZ Grips on a gun are like a shirt and tie with a good suit. Some things just go together perfectly. VZ is a good choice because they have so much variety in colours and texture. I had those Camos done on special order and shipped to NightHawk when the gun was being built. I really like the...
