    9mm powder coated frustration

I apologize, I just realized my two sizing dies are 355 and 357. I'm currently loading some Lee LRN at both sizes so we'll see which keyholes on me, if any. These have a much less abrupt ogive than the angular TC so maybe that is the issue.

    9mm powder coated frustration

To clarify, I get one in ten that keyholes at 7 yards and has a different sound to it when it fires, has a "chock" tone to it. It obviously goes nearly off the paper when that happens. I'm starting to think it doesn't like the truncated cone design.

    9mm powder coated frustration

I'm using Eastwood Hotcoat. When I sized them to 358 they wouldn't chamber unless I seated the bullet shoulder almost flush with the case mouth. If I seated it out and tried to chamber you can see where the powdercoating got scraped off. The 358's were keyholing 50% of the time. This is...

    9mm powder coated frustration

I've loaded thousands of powder coated 9mm over the years, the majority being the LRN Lee 6 hole. I discovered some of the cavities were getting out of round so I went ahead and got an Arsenal truncated cone. My P01 does decently well with both, but I'm getting inconsistencies with my new...

    CZ vs. Beretta

It's a sweetheart, I have the CGW Shadow 2 SAO. I did add some LOK palm swell grips, not a fan of the flat aluminum. As for loading for the Shadow, I've had the best results with Hornady JHP HAP bullets seated out far as you can and still 'clink' against the chamber. Get the CGW barrel...

Acceptable accuracy for a .357 carbine at 50 yds?

On a side note, is there a sight other than the factory buckhorn that compensates for using 357 and 38? I was thinking of something along the lines of the peep sight on my Garand.

    Filing welds

Thank you guys so much, I gently filed down the high points in the welds just enough to make it fit smoothly on the slide and the extractor channel. I barely had to do anything, JMF Precision Welding did a great job getting my baby back together. I will do a test run tomorrow with various...

    Filing welds

This gentleman is a firearm micro welder expert, and he has a partner that mainly machines 1911's. Unfortunately he jig doesn't fit my CZ slide so I'll have to do the work myself.

    Filing welds

Thanks for all the advice, good point about chamfering the welds and using safe side files.

    Filing welds

I finally had my CZ's slide crack fixed, it should be here in a few days. I have never had to file down welds before, as a beginner should I get a basic set or would careful Dremel work be better? The microwelding is in some tight spots around the extractor groove and slide rails. If I go the...

Looking for a 357 handload without stuck cases

Flattened is one thing, but check the primer hit as well, that's a sure sign. Oh and I shoot my powder coated 160gr lead bullets out of my Henry lever at about 1800fps, very accurate. What is the recipe you're using with your loads?

What is it like looking for certain pistol brass on the ground at a busy range? Let me tell ya...

I mainly have issues with 40 getting mixed with my 9mm scavenging. I just toss them after the range trip. Now the 380's are really annoying and they only get caught when I go to decap. No resistance at all as they are straight wall. I have two whole bags of the suckers now. On occasion a...

Looking for an accurate 32 ACP.

I know of a guy at the range originally from one of the Slavic countries that used to compete. He uses a very nice Pardini, in both 32ACP and 45 ACP. He did mention finding brass and bullets is problematic, not sure if he uses specific types. He's always hunting for Bullseye powder.

    Who owns a PCC

I originally had an early HiPoint 9mm, but metal parts kept snapping off so I sold it and got a CX4. One hiccup early on but has been stellar ever since. I will point out it eats 9mm like candy so it doesn't see much range time. I have my Henry 357 when I need to work for my shots.

    Shadow 2 holster?

I did get the Blade Tech and like you said it flops around a lot. I had high hopes for it but just couldn't get it to work.

    Shadow 2 holster?

I'm looking to take up mild competition with my Shadow 2. I tried a kydex holster but it just flopped around pretty bad. Years ago I had a Comp Tac and it worked decently enough, are those still pretty good or any other suggestions?

    Broken slide

Yeah, CGW gets their slides from CZ USA and CZ customer service looked at the slide and said they don't have any new slides, and won't warranty a whole gun as I had the 1911 bushing conversion done. Buy several CZ firearms and this is their answer, despite the break not being my fault.

    Broken slide

If you need more let me know. It's a CZ 97b.

    Broken slide

No more slides available. Thin part behind extractor broke clean through.

If anyone can put me in contact with a reputable gunsmith that knows how to repair a break I would appreciate it.
