Anybody had a problem when using mags at max capacity +1 ??

As detailed in my post #29, I did intensive shooting to test the flat base mags, and I got 100% reliability. Having experienced problems with pinkie finger mags, the simple solution that provides full 10+1 capacity with 100% reliability is for me to carry flat base magazine. This is no...

Anybody had a problem when using mags at max capacity +1 ??

Well, I had the chance to go back to the range today and shoot 5 different kinds of ammo including HST+P ammo and some near max hand loads for testing the magazine under stout recoil. I fired 67 rounds total and purposely topped off the flat base magazine at least 10 times. I would load it up...

Anybody had a problem when using mags at max capacity +1 ??

Please guys, enough with the smart remarks and lecturing down to me. You will be under stress in an emergency situation and likely NOT be shooting your best. In the scenario in which multiple thugs are shooting at you from beyond point-blank range, statistics show that the majority of your...

Anybody had a problem when using mags at max capacity +1 ??

You're right that I am contacting the mag release. I have observed that. But my mere contacting it is not the cause. When I try to simulate the exact hold and see if I can press the release button hard enough to activate it, it's not happening. Plus again, it doesn't happen with the flat base...

Anybody had a problem when using mags at max capacity +1 ??

What issue are you referring to. A tight loading magazine is not an issue to me if the gun works. I've never had any "issue" topping off an AR15 with 30+1 or any of my other handguns with +1.Even when the fully loaded mags go in very tight, they all went bang and none fell out of the gun. Only...

Anybody had a problem when using mags at max capacity +1 ??

#2 post; Wally I'll probably do that if I don't want to settle for the flat plate magazine. It's a PIA having to send guns in, but it might very well be this magazine catch issue as was the case with so many Sig 938's. #3 post; Yes, I'm chambering the gun with a round from out of the flat...

Anybody had a problem when using mags at max capacity +1 ??

I'm having a problem with my new Sig P365. The trouble is that the factory magazine with the pinkie extension is falling out of the gun when firing full 10+1 capacity. I've been shooting autoloaders for many years without ever experiencing this in any other gun. Somebody on another forum was...

Any way of doing a background check for a buyer?

I am not an FFL dealer, but I intend to sell my pistol privately. Though it is legal here in Texas to sell a pistol face to face to another Texas resident, I'd prefer to know that I'm not selling it to a criminal. Does anybody know of any way I might be able to verify that the potential buyer is...

When shipping guns USPS, will using registered mail help against theft?

I've always used USPS Priority mail with insurance to ship rifles to transfer dealers out of state. I was wondering if sending the package registered mail was a worthwhile extra measure of security. (??) Rather then have to try and collect insurance in the event of theft, I much prefer to do...

    Phone call from NRA

I am a Life Member and I use to make donations peridically. THIS IS WHAT I GOT IN RETURN. Here is just ONE YEAR worth of junk mail from them asking me for more money. After about 3 years of ignoring the junk mail and "gifts" sent to me requesting more donations, I was finally able to shake...

    other gun-friendly countries?

Here's a question to the die-hards that would not consider moving to a country that will not allow concealed carry; If you moved to a country like Switzerland that has a very homogeneous demographic, a higher standard of living then us, and practically no crime, do you think you could settle...

    Kahr CS not very good

I started ducking the shots and stopped reading the posts in this shootout between you two guys. BUT, The bottom line is that a good many of the smaller Kahr pistols plum don't work right out of the box!!!! In particular I'm reffering to the pistols with the 3" slide length of the PM and MK...

    Pocket carry .380 or 9mm?

Ok.....if we are going to get into the comparison semantics and split hairs that the smallest 9mm pistols like a Kahr are "bigger" then say pistols like the Walther PPK 380, then I'd make that sacrifice and carry allllllll that extra weight and dimension of the 9mm pistol over a 380. 56hawk...

    Para Ordnance P14-45?

I bought my full S/S P14 about 15 years ago before Para-Ordnance became a dirty word. At one time Para Ord was commonly and prominently found at every Houston Gunshow. Now it is a rarity that few dealers or none will carry. Use the google search to read of the quality control discussions related...

    Kahr CS not very good

Having my fragile but very small Kahr MK9 pistol with me during a defensive situation is a much better scenario then having my dependable and durable (but larger) Glock 27 at home in the draw. ;) I'm now looking for a used MK40 or PM40 that can fire off 75 hollow point rounds without a hitch...

How do YOU carry your SIG 229

I carry mine on a peg in the safe. It's a solid and reliable gun for police style open carry......but way too heavy and bulky for concealed carry in 2010. I'm tempted to dump it, 'cause it never gets used anymore.

    Decent compact .40S&W options

The Sig 229 is the most reliable full sized gun that I have ever owned. I've fired about 300 rounds through it and have never had a malfunction. But, compared to other reliable carry guns that are avaialable today, it's really way too big and heavy to carry concealable in comparison.

Need to learn about O/U for shooting clay.

I'm looking to do some casual clay bird shooting and would like some basic info about the various O/U shotgun offerings out there. My budget would be preferably $1,100 to maybe $1,300. I don't ever intend to hunt with it. I'm not entirely new to sporting 12ga shotguns, but have only fired a...
