    Wolves won't hurt you .. unless you're a Russian

Any woman who takes after a wolf with an axe is more of a man than I.

    I like my rifles but...

Look up Project Appleseed and see if there are any events in your area. This is a great program that will make you a better shot. If seeing sights are your problem, an optic such as a scope or red dot may help. Either way, I really recommend Appleseed, it helped me very much.

    The "magical" 17 rounds...

I also can squeeze in 2 more rounds with a flush fitting aftermarket mag (over a factory 15 rounder) in my Ruger P95DC. It is interesting what the different designs can do with the same amount of space. I was considering buying another newer 9mm with more capacity, since my P95 came with 10...

    10/22 Tapco T6 Help Please

I would like a little input before I go reaming away. I am wondering if no contact with the barrel would be better than stiff, constant contact with the barrel. Is there any reason why 'floating' the barrel in this manner would not be a good idea?

    10/22 Tapco T6 Help Please

I have a Tapco T6 stocked 10/22 with Tech Sights. When I am shooting on sandbags on the bench at 25 yards, my groups are stringing horizontally- ten shots in about 1 1/2" to over 2" at times, while at other times it groups fairly tight. Then I stood up and pinned the gun against a vertical...

    Torx info wanted

I've bought them one at a time from the hardware store, just like a screwdriver instead of the set that looks like an allen wrench. Very happy with them.

    Lobizon for Christmas

that looks like a handy design, very unique, and not hard on the eye at all (unless your eye got too close...) I'd sport it.

Thinking about getting into a 243

If your experiences with a .243 are half as good as mine, you will be happy with your decision.

    Chef's I need your help

Had a couple of 'free range' chickens butchered last year that i tried with this recipe. The results were excellent. My wife was impressed and our bellies are full. Thank you for sharing this recipe, I'm sure it will be used again in our house! jbkebert- have you made a decision yet? Let us...

    Time passer

I was just joking. Most of the time I 'forget' my phone in the truck, although during deer season my friends and I send picture messages of dead deer. It really does get me how strongly some people feel about how others spend their free time.

    Time passer

It just bothers the older folks when you can play games, text your buddies, send forwarded joke picture messages, all while eating a handfull of grandma's cookies- and still catch that deer sneaking out the corner of your eye in time to make a good shot.

    Bolt or Lever?

Either are fine for just about any practical use. Some here have never fired a lever- you owe it to yourself to do so. You might be surprised jut how 'right' it feels. I hunt with a pump, bolt, or muzzleloader most of the time- because that's what I've got, but I shoot my buddies' levers at...

    30.06 Round For Whitetails

was always a fan of nosler partitions and silver ballistic tips until I started shooting the 30-06 and cannot afford to spend as much. These more expensive rounds are still my favorite in the .243. Rem CoreLokts are super inexpensive and so far the deer I've shot with 165's have left large...

    Smokin venison

I smoke shoulders and rumps sometimes. I have an electric smoker with a water pan. The venison comes out nice and juicy as long as you don't overcook it too much. It is very good. I like to marinate in onions, garlic, and olive oil, then rub with a ground up mixture of mustard seed, chile...

    Mosin-Nagant as a first rifle?

The funny part about this to me, is he already said what he is getting, yet folks continue to argue about it. Solid choice, he will love it and have plenty of fun. I certainly wouldn't worry about recoil either, especially given his experience shooting.

    Chef's I need your help

If you use zucchini, you could slice it the long way, cover in oil and spices, grill on the charcoal grill. Very yummy.
