    2 Stage Trigger

I have never understood why they make two stage triggers.... There is no benefit that I can see. I have shot a number of single and two stage and can't see why the two stage is "better". The two stage triggers that were adjusted to where there was no creep were in all respects a single stage.

    rifle for 200yds

For offhand practice, the 22 would be cheap and would give you more experience reading the wind. There is a reason there are a lot of military trainers in 22lr.

What is the Best 10 Shot Group You Have Ever Witnessed?

The best 10 shot group I have made was with my CZ 455 American in 22LR. I set up a 3.5"x4" steel swinger at 270 yards and shot from my rolled up shirt. I fired a few sighters and then pounded steel. All 10 rounds hit that piece of steel and I was surprised I did it. I have not tried it since...

    rifle for 200yds

200 yards is not pushing the limit for 22LR. It is fairly easy to hit a 2" target at 200 yards with good subsonic ammo. Wolf makes some good stuff that shoots very well. I have shot to 300 yards with my CZ455 American. It will hold MOA the whole way on a decent day. I like to use a pop...

Which .22 is more accurate in the 100 yards to 200 yard range?

A turret tape is a label you put on the turret/elevation adjustment so you can easily select your zero range. It is marked in yards or meters and is for your rifle with your ammo of choice because they are all different. You will have to shoot at different ranges to get your trajectory...

Which .22 is more accurate in the 100 yards to 200 yard range?

I just got my Hawke set up. Now I need to get the turret tape on it.

Which .22 is more accurate in the 100 yards to 200 yard range?

I am not sure how you shoot "accurately" at a target that is 2'x2'.... I am sure you will be happy with a CZ. I have shot both, and the CZ gets my vote in all departments. That is why I bought a CZ 455. I have not shot at 400 yards, but I have shot at 300. I can keep 10 shots on a...

    CZ 550 Project

My CZ is not chambered in 22-250 so I can't help you there. If you don't hand load, go buy a box of everything and try them all. If you are hand loading, I have heard well of 55 grain Ballistic Tip and 39.0 grains of Win-760, Winchester brass and a Federal 210 GM primer. Should clock about...

    CZ 550 Project

My biggest piece of advice is to try the current barrel first. They are good shooters. I have a CZ and have to say the barrel is great. If it doesn't shoot well, then maybe look at a new barrel. I would use a regular varmint taper. Maybe a heavy varmint, but it is up to you. If you will...

The 22-250 is a good varmint round. I would use it.

    bipod twang fix

I don't know how well your hearing is, but I could hear it plain as day and so could the critters. Any spring under tension will twang and make noise. They twang mostly when shooting. AFTER THOUGHT: Maybe your springs touch the legs. That might dull it down. I'd hate to say your hearing...

    bipod twang fix

I stuck some 3/16 braided rope in my springs to get rid of the twang. It worked! It looks completely stock and cost me all of 5 cents. No ugly shrink tubing.....YUCK...and I didn't have to take the springs off. I cut it to 3", melted the ends and stuffed it in there. It can't fall out because...

    Favorite Rifle...and WHY?

It would have to be my CZ 455 in 22LR. It is quiet, accurate, and I can carry a TON of ammo. It will take whatever I need it to and never lets me down.

    Hasenpfeffer

I have eaten both wild and domestic. I started hunting when I turned 5 and have raised meat rabbits. Both are good. The raised ones have more meat. I shoot and eat rabbits all year round. The predators have taken their toll this year, but they will soon be taken care of. I like to make...

New winter Rimfire project what do you guys think?

It is important to use subsonic or hyper velocity ammo for best results. High velocity drops through the sound barrier around 75 yards and can veer off course. I prefer subsonic as it is MUCH quieter, but Hyper has a much flatter trajectory....and costs more.

Where do you shoot (type of range)?

I just go outside. I can shoot almost as far as I want. I don't like ranges too much. Too many people and you can't shoot on your terms.

    30.06 Round For Whitetails

It is not about the ammo. It is about shot placement. A bigger gun is a poor substitute for good shot placement. Just put the bullet where it would do the most damage. A good hollow point will do just fine.

New winter Rimfire project what do you guys think?

I have done more shooting past 100 yards than I have under 100. My setup: Rifle- CZ 455 American.... I made and installed pillars and lightened the trigger to 8 oz. Scope- Hawke Tactical 8.5-25x42 Half Mildot higher magnification really helps Rings- Hawke fully adjustable I set...
