    Help with a stuck case

Ditto on the shell holders being a potential issue. I got a 30-30 case stuck the other day and couldn't figure out why. Turns out I had used the wrong shell holder, it was barely holding it down and stripped metal away from the rim. Case came out easy enough later. Lesson learned.

    Ordered LNL AP last night

Ditto to many of the comments. Spare parts are important, I broke the hub on the very first day. I found that keeping it clean and marking the rod in the primer tube prevented many headaches. It took some time to get the shell feeder to work right. It's a good reloading solution, once you are...

What are your reloading component price range?

At this point, the price isn't as big an issue as availability. Living in a small community in Alaska, I have to buy components in Anchorage or Fairbanks. I've been checking for powder and primers on monthly trips to the big cities as able. There just isn't anything to buy yet or my timing is...

.223 load with .55 gr. Hndy spire point

I use 26 grains of BLC(2) with 55 grain bullets for .223. Have also tried IMR4895 in the past. If we could get CFE223 in Alaska, I would try it. Been using BLC(2) since my first .222 caliber rifle.

    Help with .223 reloading

I shoot a lot of 55 gr V-Max bullets with BLC(2). Also had good luck with IMR-4895.

Thanks to everyone for the advice. There are definitely some more links to follow. I'll keep looking for a load it likes...

    Ruger Mini-14 Accuracy

I have a M77 in .223 that I shoot alongside it, got it down to less than a inch at 100 yards. Using a lead sled, so things are not moving much...

Odd "bulge" case head area of 30-30?

I reload the 30-30 and agree that most of what is being seen in the pictures is just the limit of the resizing die. For what it is worth, I used have trouble with denting the cases, using a lube pad and getting too much lube on the case. The spray on products work really well and so far I...

    Ruger Mini-14 Accuracy

All, I purchased a new stainless Mini-14, with a laminate stock about a year or more ago. Based on the information I have seen about the rifle, it isn't noted as being very accurate. That said, it seems like the reviews and articles I'm found about it would support expected accuracy of...

    223 reloading question

This matches my experience. Had good luck with the RCBS Swaging die and it does work better with some lube sprayed on the primer pockets. I bought a Dillion swagger and it is a lot easier to use. It is consistent and I don't pinch my fingers as much :)

    Still Cheaper?

The cost of my .223 reloads is nominal, but I haven't had to buy components since the crisis began and brass is available. Reloading is the only reasonable way to shoot my .458. Factory ammo is $80 to $100 a box. Even with the component bullets being expensive, a dollar round is much more...

    RCBS quality customer service ..

I agree. They are great. Needed a new motor for my Vibratory Case Cleaner and didn't want to send the whole thing outside for repair. They had a replacement motor to me at no cost, in less than a week.

    brass price inflation

I must be one of those :) There definitely has been less left behind at the range.

    160 gr FTX 30-30 Loads

Historically I have used 4895, but with the new FTX bullets, I started using LVR with some success. Still not there on the best load for my 336.

Dillon 600 swager - any case prep after swaging?

The sorting advice is excellent. If I get it adjusted for LC, most of the FC won't fit. Otherwise it has worked well and I haven't had any problems with seating primers.

    reloading 222

It isn't a problem, they use the same diameter bullets. I would double check the bullet weight. I see loads in my manual for up to 70 grain bullets. I used 50 grain bullets when I shot the .222. I'm not sure about the "hammering" them out part :)

    Brass quality

The only new brass I have bought new is for my .458. There is no way I'm buying factory ammo for that thing at +$80 a box. I pick up plenty of brass for my other interests at the range...

Jammed up 3 dies with Hornady one shot spray

I have had better luck with the Hornady One Shot than the lube pad. Especially with 30-30 cases, they seem pretty sensitive to excessive lube and will dent. I load lots of .223 and would hate to think about applying wax by hand to each one. Haven't had the problems Float Pilot mentions, maybe...
