+1 It worked and nothing happened. It is commendable you look at what you could have done better I am sure you will get a lot of input.

I have .45 XD and a g19. Both have not misfeed, jammed etc. I have put 2-3k rounds through both at the range with everything from range ammo to SD loads. No drama , both are nice guns and maintained with just a basic field strip cleaning post the range

Clint Smith seems to make a lot of sense, i don't know what they teach in academies anymore , but in my day it was stop , lie down etc.

It might be worth it if you a 1911 fan and want to carry it. Personally I would not carry a 1911 they are too big and heavy. I carry a g19 and that is big as I would go as far as a carry gun.

I would not to it. They are a parasitic bush IMO. I had about 500 feet of it I wanted to remove. I had to have a backhoe rip it out, then the ground treated and left a year to plant. It is impossible to cut with anything less that a chainsaw when mature , and horrid barbs

I glued some of the material that lined and old pair of boot to the contact points of the holster . Better than wearing a undershirt if its hot

I used 180 grain loads for both. IMO its the sweet spot for both. I hand loaded and the 30-06 was easer to use the 200 grain loads as the bullet does not have to be seated as deeply to to the additional length. However in hunting use up to big hogs and bear I never saw a difference and the 180's...
I picked a .45 Springfield tactical. 13 rounds is hard to argue with. I looked at the usual too, the M&P and Glock as well and picked the one that fit my needs the best.

The Glock 19 is my carry gun and not leaving. I love the XD .45 tactical I have but it's big and is my home gun. The trigger is great

I carry +p127 ranger loads in my glock 19 and it works well system wise The reason i picked this load is its very close to the .357 125 grain load that is IMO the best documented stopping load. I don't have a .357 sig , and the 127 load is just carry not practice. The 9mm is a lot cheaper to...
The most interesting firearm that was a favorite of mine was a Remington 660 in 350 magnum. The gun had exceptional balance and the ballistics were very close to that of the 35 Whalen a very popular wildcat load at the time. Excellent for deer to Elk and everything between. Loaded with a 200...
I would look really hard at the XDm. I have a 19 glock as my carry gun and my at home gun is a tactical .45 XD. I am very happy with the XD, and the m series adds a match grade barrel ,excellent trigger, easy to strip and a bunch of goodies come with it. The XD with over 1000 rounds through it...
