I have two ARs, one is an m4 format and the other has a 24" fluted heavy barrel. That heavy barrel is only used from a bench but it's great fun to shoot 500 yards.
If you want to shoot off hand get another barrel. Anderson makes good barrels at a decent price and it's not that bad to change...
Here is the link to my YouTube video series on a simple leather sheath. Please feel free to ask questions.

I make quite a few sheaths and a simple fold over style isn't that hard. I'll see if I can find the video on my YouTube channel and post a link when I get home.

Sounds like the new slide stop might need a little fitting. Try some different magazines.
The stepped down part of the magazine follower should contact the slide stop and push it up. See if you can put an empty mag in and pull the slide back and it should lock open. Try the same with a dummy...
I have a notebook that I take to the range ad record everything for each load, once I have a load that I like I load some more and compare with my initial findings.
This is interesting since I'm ladder testing some loads for a
.223 single shot that I have. I'm using a 50 grain Hornady varmint bullet and R-P brass that has been sized and trimmed. All will be identical except powder which is IMR 4198 and BL-C(2).
I just ordered a chronograph so I can get...
I have to start by saying that I think Obama has been a poor excuse for a president.
I support our Constitution and everything that has made our country great.
I do believe it is the job of the POTUS to nominate Scalia's replacement. Whether we like it or not it is Obama's job, not the next...
Is go with another Rock Island or Taurus. I have a S.A.M. Commadore. Their warranty is crap and you can't get parts from them. I won't buy another but the price was good.
I wouldn't recommend using 2400 with non-gas checked lead bullets even in light loads (don't ask why I say that). Don't get me wrong, I love my magnums and mostly shoot full power loads.
I always carry when hunting but I'll pick an appropriate sidearm for the game being hunted.
I don't worry too much about bad guys in the woods but coyotes are a problem here.
I hunt with my 6 1/2 .41 Blackhawk using a 210 swc from an ideal 38-410 mold with 9.2 grains of unique. Didn't like Blue Dot or 2400 in it. If I can support myself well I get 6" groups at 50 yards.
No such thing as "just one more". I got my first S&W revolver a few months ago, a model 28-2. Now there are many more on my list including the model 10.
