There are two forends for the 88. One is seen on their website at:
http://www.maverickarms.com/pages/88security.htm
The other (which is what I have) is seen here:

I would rather have the one seen on their web site.
I was looking for info on choke tubes in a Maverick 88 and found this thread, where a member stated that he had put the forend and slide tube of a Mossy 500 on his Maverick. Does anyone know if this is a drop in conversion or is special fitting required?
The member (Onmilo) will not take PM's...
Since my topic for the worst maker of firearms seems to be a smash, why not chose the best one? Ruger gets my vote. The revolvers are excellent! The semi-auto pistols are reliable (Except for the p90) and thier rifles are just as trustworthy. The 10/22 is the best semi-auto 22LR ever!
I would rather have had the Remington 870. But my wife saw me make some remarks about the 88 while we were shopping at Wal-Mart and got it for me. The 870 has smoother action and just feels more solid. My buddy has one and I have fired it several times.
+1 here, except for the useless thread part. Personally it shows how many folks here are not very experienced with a variety of firearms. Jennings gets my vote as worst. I have fired several and every one had feed and fire issues.
Not Rio Salado. I go to Sycamore Creek or out by Peralta trail most times.
I am going to get an 18in barrel and perhaps the ATI stock. Does the stock fit well? I was unsure if it would fit. Will other model 500 stocks fit too?
Your kidding right? Their revolvers are worth their weight in gold and some of the best in production. The 10/22 is most likely the biggest selling 22LR ever built. Thier semi-auto pistols are not competition material but are reliable and sturdy.
I can't say much about thier shotguns since I...
No kidding! My brother in-law has an old tec-9 and it is a POS! Misfires every other round like clockwork. The magazine locks into place and then has to be pulled down about 1/8in or else you get feed problems. It might as well be a paper weight. He bought it from some 'thug' for $75.
I...
My wife got me a Mossberg Maverick for valentines day (Now thats love!) and I have taken it out a couple time now. For the price it is damn nice! I put 100+ rounds through it in an outing and it had no firing issues, no aiming issues, nothing wrong that I could find.
My only grief would be...
I got young eyes (I am 28) and I have personally been leaning toward the Ruger. I have a big love for the Ruger since my p89 and 10/22 are fun and reliable. The p89 needed a new grip (Thanks Houge!) and front sight (HiViz), but I love it. Besides, I reside in Arizona, the hoime land of Ruger...
I am trying to find a decent 22LR pistol for about $200-$250 and I have narrowed to these two. I have fired a Ruger Mark II before, so I would imagine the 22/45 would be fairly similar. All input on the 22A would be appriciated.
OK, so I am thinking about picking up this model 91 from a guy but I need some answers first.
How about parts availability? Is it rough or are most standard AK parts interchangable with it?
How reliable is the Norinco compared to other Ak's like the Romian SAR-1?
Any other issues I...
I recently read about the new 30-30 SST rounds by Hornady for lever actions. The article said that the .444 Marlin needed to be fired from a new lever action to notice a ballistics improvement due to Marlin changing the twist ratio and grooving in the late 90's. The test round for the 30-30 were...
