With the smart carry, do you wear it outside of the sweat pants or do the sweatpants go over it? This is the first time I've come across the smart carry...
Does anyone happen to know what kind of tool is needed to remove the grips on a RIA 1911 FS A1?
They are super tiny and apparently I'm blind cuz i cant make out what kind of screws they are..
Thanks...
Was just curious for those who carry a revolver as an EDC, how many of you carry extra ammo with you?
One of my EDC's is a Ruger SP101 and currently don't carry any extra ammo with me.
Same goes when I'm carrying a pistol too.
Nope, factory new ammo. Yesterday I ran 115 grain Federal Eagle and Winchester White Box ammo.
Next up I'm going to change it up too 124 grain to see if there is any difference as well.
Finally got with an instructor on the range and a few things I learned was,
* I was griping the gun too tight with my right hand (I'm right handed) so I loosened my grip more and gripped just a little tighter with my support hand.
* Found out when I'm shooting the Sig p365XL I needed more...
Thanks for all the replies! I'm going to look at getting an instructor to evaluate plus I'm a believer in getting in some extra training when I can.
I plan to have this as one of my EDC so I'm going to keep at it with a lot of practice.
Went to the range last night with my Ruger SP 101 357 revolver and was shooting pretty tight groups, got most of the shots where I wanted them.
Went back to the range today with a recently acquired SIG p365XL and even though I still had fairly tight groups they were all low left, or just left...
I took my SIG to the range today and went through 250 rounds of range ammo of several different brands and it shot great! Only had one fail to return to battery but that only happened once using some cheaper ammo that I had. Same kind that I ended up having a squib load on my SA sub compact so...
No particular attachment to the seller at all. It's a Sig p365XL which the store ended up giving me a discount on since it was the display model and the only one they had left in stock. The only mark I could tell on it was on the slide a little bit where I could see because the gun was racked...
What are your opinions on purchasing display guns if it's the last one they have in stock?
If the gun seem's to be in great condition except for a few wear marks from being handled and such. Would you still purchase it as it still being sold as new?
Got to finally take the new purchase to the range and man, do I love this thing!!!! I also discovered I really need to work on one handed shooting. Other than that it's accurate (with both my hands) and a real pleasure to shoot.
True, this will not be my primary Self Defense gun but rather one I would carry while walking the woods and etc for leisure and things like that.
You do make very good points! Thanks for your input!
Hi Guys,
I'm a proud owner of a Uberti Cattleman II SA revolver and this one is equipped with the retractable firing pin.
It seems as though I can carry six rounds safely with this added safety feature as the pin is not protruding thus it wouldn't be resting on a live round.
My question is...
Seems like their find a dealer function is broken unfortunately.
I hope they dont discontinue it. All of the other lever action rifles in pistol caliber cost waaaay too much money it seems like.
Hi guys,
Does anyone know why the Rossi 92 357 rifle seems so hard to come by these days? It seems every place I check is sold out or no longer carries Rossi anymore.
Thoughts?
I think the best thing to do is use the NON-corrosive 7.62x54r ammo. I know that Gander Mountain carries it. It's pricier than the corrosive stuff but for my own piece of mind it's definitely worth the price.
