They call 23 grains as max load in their on line manual. I have found that 23.2 delivers slightly better accuracy and no pressure signs. This is with a 55 grain bullet. It's a fast burning powder and is best for light loads. I have a lot of 55 grain soft points loaded with this powder for...
Most 40 round mags are junk. You really have to work them over to get them to work. We only see the one side view. A top view would be nice if you are really thinking of doing this.

I have a Chilean carbine in 7x57. It's not pristine but the rifling is sharp and it's reasonably accurate. It will be in my arsenal until the day I pass from this earth. I managed to pick up a bayonet as well. It's easy to carry around and 7x57 is easy to load for. Getting brass is the most...
I know that several of you are excited about the KE Arms lowers. I have several Tennessee Arms (TA) polymer lowers and they are made from the same nylon and glass stuff polymer. I did put on a standard milspec carbine tube and buffer and a light weight Del Ton 16" upper with a Magpul back up...
I crimp my 30-06 M1 Garand ammo. I do trim the cases first and after loading I use a Lee crimping die. The finished results are so purty. And they just roll through the rifle so nice. I have crimped .223 ammo but I have a new RCBS 5.56 seating/crimping die and it is just a bit more forgiving...
You never said what ammo you were using. Your gun looks like normal wear and tear on a 40 year old blued gun. Your failure to fire could be one of 2 things, the primers are set too deep or something is preventing your pin from going forward. Someone already said it, clean the bolt and the...
I have had some light strikes and thought is was a primer than I didn't get seated tight. How easy is it to take apart an Axis bolt ?? What is this firing pin retainer pin ?

The news was released today. I don't know much yet but it looks a lot like a rehashed Remington 700. It appears to be focused on the tactical customer niche.

Some folks are desperate to get a firearm and others are taking advantage of that desperation. It's almost like a time honored tradition without much honor.

But, it's true today on a larger scale. More States are banning or making it impossible to own an AR. If you want a .223 in the year of the Covid-19 and antifa running loose, ya got to pay up. I'm sure Ruger is smiling all the way to the bank.

My best accuracy is with the faster burning powder. AA2105, RL10x. For a little more velocity I like IMR3031 and AA2230 and AA2460 all with a 55 grain bullet. My favorite is a Hornady 55 grain soft point.

Let's do some math. $10,000 for a good lathe and all the tooling. $1600 for 2 semesters of lathe and advanced lathe classes at your local trade school. Or $350 for a new complete upper and bolt carrier group Yea, it's doable. Or you can take Gunman1981 up on his offer to do it for $75 plus...
I just bought the S&K scout scope mount for a 93 Mauser. It was a no brainer getting it on but it required some tinkering to get it aligned with the barrel. It uses the rear sight base to mount it to the gun.

I bolted all of my presses and powder measure to my table saw. When I want to use the saw it's a pain in the backside to put it all back together again but it's awful handy the rest of the time.

You are correct F. Guffy. I should of said I take small amount of material off of the shell holder to make it "shorter" and not the die. I don't change anything on the die. My bad. Although it appears you may have an objection to changing the height (deck height ?) of the shell holder.
I...
I haven't read all of the replys but I gave up on "camming over" years ago. I screw my sizing dies into the locking collar until there is 3 threads showing above the collar and then I lock my collar. That becomes a known position. You get more than 50% of the lever moving down to where you...
I spend some time on Predator Masters. It seems the 6.5 is a great rifle for poking holes in paper but if you want to kill tough animals you need a 6.8 SPC. It's my next project.
