Don't trust the reviews at all and buy IN PERSON.
The problem with that like other CZ guns in general is that they are not often carried in decent inventory for you to try the model you want at the shop even if they stock them.
If you DO find one with a good trigger, buy it. It may be the...
There is a very nice looking SFX locally, and the price is great, but I WONDER if it is one of those early oversprung versions which are jamomatics? Any way to tell until its too late, and is there an easy fix?
I ask because "The Humble Marksman" made it seem in his video that its not a simple...
To start learning about 1911s, this article is helpful:
https://www.militarytimes.com/off-duty/gearscout/2011/06/08/read-this-before-you-buy-your-first-1911/
Many will tell you that getting a 1911 for less than $1000 is a wast of time. Some set the bar at $2000 min. There ARE reasons for...
Read this: https://hipowersandhandguns.com/
THEN decide if you want a Hipower. They are pretty guns but have their strengths and weaknesses.
Then if you want one, look at COMPLETED auctions on GB and get a sense of the value. Here is another thing. If YOU FIND a Hipower with a good...
Absolutely true. The S2 and others have quite good triggers OTB. SOME of the old PreBs are great, some not, but mostly with CZ the hammer/sear interface and the camming is not optimum to people who like good 1911s.
SIG DOES make a very decent OTB trigger. You tend to pay for it, but I did...
ALL non custom CZs exhibit large variations in trigger quality. You can install all the llight springs you want, but stacking and gritty triggers are out there. 25% are excellent. 50% need work. 25% are awful. I've been buying and shooting CZs for decades. That is the way it is.
No reliability or accuracy concerns. Gen 2 fixed all that. I would buy IN PERSON, because the DA trigger can vary from great to horrible. I've seen and worked on them plenty!
Thanks gents! Looking on line, I found that the vanguard 2 gives you a bunch for the money and you roll your own scope. I did pick up a CZ 550 in 243 when gander mountain shut the doors. But wow those howa actions are smooooth.
Yes thank you. The stock is quite nice, but am clueless about the scope. I know RWS puts their name on cheap air rifle scopes, but what they used on HP rifles 25 years ago I don’t know.
So, a LGS has a very clean looking RWS 89 with an RWS Supreme scope. (Looks nice, but have no idea if these were good). Looks like a package and I guess that it is an older model of the Howa 1500 which has been sold in several configurations and several companies. I know the action is very good...
Considering having a pro cerakote my P99 frame from black to OD green. (They don't make them like this anymore, and I like the look). How is wear? Any experiences out there? I've seen posts of "hey this is what its like after 2 mos". Would rather see them after 2 years. Thanks.
Have an SP 2022, and a P99, and as you can see am trending DA/SA these days. I am mulling over a PX4 compact because it gives me the size, or smaller of the G19 and seems to have a decent trigger. I know these guns are NOT as popular as some, but they seem decent to me, and the DA has NO...
Thank you. I am pretty sure that the version two and SA version have different sights. Of course that makes no sense but it's what they did. And I'm also very sad to hear that the coup attempt in turkey did not go well .
have some comments questions about the topic gun. I like the form - 4 inch barrel (shorter than SA) and the grip is decently textured. Sights are complex. The trigger seems a bit rougher than the average P99 (my P99 was rough), but I THINK I like the general action better. The action does not...
I just got a 'new'/used Redbox CPO. Finish is almost like new. The SA trigger is like finely tuned 1911 - great. But, I notice that all new P226s have smoother/lighter DA triggers. Mine is decent, but not like a new one.
I know that the mainspring strut on the new guns is quite different...
My son now has a tactical set up with a non-outline tritium in front and a wide notch plain sight in the rear and it seems to be a very good set up. More and more shooters on the tactical and competition side are going to either fiber optic or plain tritium front with a blacked out rear ledge...
Just picked up my first SIG, a like new red box 226. Like new as in the finish. The barrel has had rounds through it from the outside marks. I'm amazed at the absolute match between the slide and frame- what is it? Normally alloy guns just don't match.
I really like the old dash dot...
