Back in the late '60s I was a spec 4 operating room specialist in the 116th MASH of the Del Nat. Guard. We used to work in the local hospital on Saturdays of our once a month duty.
I was assisting a doctor in the "outpatient" OR. We had a guy with quite a gut come in with a lump on his back...
I vote for using your 12ga. I'd use No 4 lead shot for happy medium of distance and pattern.
Cats are fast and tough. Furthermore, depending on how far in the sticks you are, you might have to give up some shots with the rifle due to what's behind the cat and possible ricochets.
Rusty,
Thanks for posting that. It happened after the guy on the stretcher was shooting. I had stopped watching at that point. This time I watched the whole thing.
Very brave fellows!
Viking,
It worked ok for me in WMP. I'm running a Mac and frequently of that kind of thing doesn't. Thanks for suggesting pasting it into WMP, I tried to open it in IE and it didn't work.
Are you on broadband? I am and it was only playing at 100kbps and still froze intermittently. Luckily it...
I had one of those ugly suckers show up on my back deck one night.
Here's what I did to it.

I agree with those who say the story sounds fishy, and even if it's true, it was grandpa's fault. Just lucky the kid didn't shoot himself or anyone else.
As to it being horrible for the kid, I say NO.
He probably didn't even realize what happened except for a big noise and the gun flying out...
ctdonath,
I agree with you about the initials. You screwed up the D just as most would when trying to write on a small radius compound curve on a tiny thing held in his fingers.
IMO there's no way for someone to duplicate that in a hurry. They would be confounded by the curves too and...
legacy38,
I have a Rossi '92 Carbine in .357 and a rifle in .44 Mag. Both bought around Jan 1996.
I refinished the stock of the carbine and stained it Walnut. It looks very nice after the Rossi opaque stain is removed.
The rifle had problems in the beginning. Cartridges wouldn't feed...
Just once.
I was shooting my .45 cal. flintlock at my "in the sticks" shooting club and was the only one there. A scroungy looking old coot showed up saying that the distinctive sound of my smoke pole had drawn him there. We had a nice conversation about old guns, but in the course of the...

"The various light sources? A desk lamp with two bulbs, an indirect light shining onto the ceiling, and last but not least my 6 D-Cell maglight in my left hand. "
That's art.
Great shot Sven!
