    New powder scale

I have always used a beam scale although I bought a decent digital scale for the sole purpose of checking calibration on the beam scale.

    Primer question??

Parman, Typically the reloading manual will dictate which primer to use, however the Hornady 9th edition makes no mention of using magnum primers. I do not load for the 357 so I will defer to someone who does, Regards

Both are great pistols, I own both. I like the collet barrel bushing, mine has been in service since 1979 and shoots great.

    Best 1911

I own both Colt and Springfield, there's not much, if any, noticeable difference between the two regarding function and reliability. I prefer the Colt due to resale and personal preferance, but Springfield make a fine 1911.

    Colt 1911--worth it?

Looking at the non-custom Colts, all parts are not forged. The MSH is plastic, on some models the trigger is plastic. Some models, if not all models consist of Cast & forged parts.

    1911 fans, tell me why?

I own 1911's because they are reliable, accurate and comes to target better than most. I don't own glocks because they have no safety, and they are so ugly I refuse to be seen in public with one

    Colt Series 70 - Rescued

Hello !! I picked up an old series 70 Colt a while back. The finish was gone, the internal parts were butchered up, front sight was almost off, grips were gone, all in all pretty poor shape. The reason I picked it up was the fact that the slide was in great shape, the frame rails were...

    1911 Face Lift

It's a fitted, The picture does it no justice, when the GS is pushed up a little it all blends good. But to your point, maybe a little more fitting would help it blend better.

Colt Combat Commander - I want to beat my head against the wall

I had the same issue with a Para P12. Got alot of advice but to no avail. My own opinion was: Considering the 45ACP has the same force on a standard slide, as it does on a shorter slide, the sorter slide will cycle faster and have a shorter travel. A standard mag spring tension is designed to...

    Carrying a full size 1911.

I carry a full size 1911 in an OWB leather holster. I am looking for a lighter smaller carry gun, the 1911 is just a little too much for all day / every day carry IMHO. Thinking about the 4" model ?

    1911 Face Lift

Dropped by the gun shop and picked up hammer, sights, trigger and grip safety for a project during the recent snow /ice storm. Took my old SAI MilSpec and installed using tools in the garage, with the exception of borrowed front & rear sight tools from a buddy. Considering this was the first...
