The sex offender registry system is an abomination and I hope this is the first step in crushing it. The registry is used to keep released convicts on probation for life, without due process (life on probation is never part of the original punishment that was passed by a court of law, AFAIK)...

I am entirely against any public offender registries. If people are too dangerous to walk around in public, they should stay in jail. But if and when offenders are released from prison, they (at least in theory) have paid for their crimes, and should now be free to resume what's left of...
