Pocket Pistol imports a no no
I'm pretty sure that the 1968 import act would not let most older .25 autos through. Points are awarded for things like target triggers, sights and target grips with palm fillers. So, I don't think that they would make it legaly. If you really like the style try...
Controlled shot
In some of the newest police duty shot the wadding is not pre-cut, and is intended to keep the shot together as long as possible, maintaining the shot on target out to 40 yards. If it really bugs you use plywood backers for your targets and the wads will bounce off. ;)
Someone has a poor testing program
The last titled K-9 I bought was in excess of $7500. This is a common problem if someone finds a pretty shepherd at the pound or a puppy mill and then trys to make a police dog out of a pet.
American AKC dogs have had all the drives that make them useful to...
Every day hunters get by with a 30-30
Last time I was in the great north woods the locals mostly used 30-30's. My guide used a old 30-30 with a broken front site post and claimed to have shot many nusance bears with it. Off course he has many opportunities and seldom shoots at distance. I'd...
Why would you want one
In most cases the only time you would need either is when shooting on the range, as they tend to slightly reduce the noise signiture, which will make your neighbor happy. The exception being military or SWAT.
Buy the Kahr, but break it in.
If you shoot the NAA and like the trigger pull, you are a lot bigger man than me. I never used a scale but I bet it is in excess of 12 pounds and long, like a Walter PPK double action on every shot. The Kahr is much better but every Kahr I ever shot was very...
NY off duty
It use to be that the only approved off duty for NY was a blued 4" or 2" .38 but as the Glocks were adopted I believe only those officers previously issued a .38 special were grandfathered in and allowed to continue this pratice. Recently I have only heard of the NY trigger glocks...
Did you get to listen to his stories? No offense, but the meatheads were the biggest crooks in any military. That in no way means that your grandpa was a bad guy. It's just the way it was. He, as a meathead, was just a guy doing a job. The combat guys would acquire stuff and sell it to...
WWII booty photos
Here are two photos. I don't know if they will help much. The proof marks are very small and include a lion standing on its back feet, a "P.V.", a "star symbol" , and an exclamation point. The left side of the action says, "Pistole P Automatique Modelel 192G." The right...
.243 East coast, .257 West Coast
I like them both, but the .257 is very much a loaders gun. If you ever hunt Mulies or bigger I'd go with the .257. If not you will save yourself a lot of hassel with the .243. Or even better get a 22-250 and a 300 mag. I'd make room in my safe for them both.
I inherited a .25 auto from my Grandfather who was a MP in France during WWII. It is in good shape with only a little wear on the blueing but is missing a magazine. The grips have "NP" lettering which I have been told may stand for N. Pfper. The gun also is marked Modele 192G on the slide. I...
