For thoses with a AR type rifle

My rifle started out as a stock civilian Colt M4. I added an ACOG right away and eventually added a rail system, flip up front and rear sight and side mounted sling attachments. I have tried a Redi-Mag and a front grip but did not like the feel of the grip (they aren't for everyone) and I...

Nightstand Gun - Keep in Holster?

My wife and I keep a variety of weapons in the bedroom. Right now that variety consists of a S&W 640 in the nightstand, no holster; a Springfield .45 Compact on my dresser, no holster and my wife's Glock .45 on her dresser in her duty belt holster.

    One Millionth CZ75 produced

Congrats CZ! I have a 9mm CZ-75 I picked up in 1988 and my wife has one in .40. We both love our CZ's and will probably keep them forever.

Problem With Giving A Rifle As Gift To Someone Diagnosed With Cancer

I agree, get him the gun. My father recently passed from a long battle with cancer so I am familiar with the effects it has on a person as well as their family. If he has an interest in one then I urge you to go forward with your plans to give him a gun. Hopefully you have the opportunity to...

    Military and Beretta 9

To my knowledge the military uses ball ammunition only in it's sidearms. My wife is a member of the Air Force SF and they only carry ball ammunition. For the individual who was shown expandable ammunition by a member of the SFS I would bet the ammunition as carried without proper...

Favorite Tactical Sling for an AR-15/M-4?

Viking Tactics The V-Tac sling (made by Viking Tacticshttp://www.vikingtactics.com/) is an excellent design that has been adopted by many within the spec-op community. They have two versions (wide and thick) and adjusts to any user.

Looking For A All Leather IWB

I use a High Noon IWB for my Springfield Compact .45. It's of all leather construction and solid stitching. You might also check out Wild Bill's Custom Leather. The only draw back I can see is availability. I had to purchase all of my High noon and Wild Bill products on line. I believe you...

    Gunshow etiquette

I agree with Jason M on the ammo purchase. Besides, you tend to get the better deal on ammo on the last day of the show. Most people don't want to load all that stuff back in the truck and would rather sell it.

    Argentine 1911s

I don't know that much about them however my friend's brother has a BM and is very satisfied with it. If you have ever read G. Gordon Liddy's book "The Monkey Handlers" his main character uses a BM. Of course according to G. Gordon the weapon was made from the armor from the German pocket...

Is it worth spending an extra $65 for night sights on a Glock?

By all means get the night sights ($65 is a great deal). Tis better to have them and not really need them than to need em and not have em.

    Glock 19 or 26

The G19 is a great choice if deep concealment isn't an option. I'm a small framed guy and have no problem with the G19 most of the year. I'm not sure about your body size or more importantly hand size, but the G26 may present a few problems if you have large hands.

    Yet another help me choose...

Hmmmm, decisions, decisions. I've never handled let alone fired a G20 or G36, but I have a G19C and love it. At one time I owned a P99 and thought it was a great firing weapon (although the trigger took a little getting use to). In the long run I'd go with the P99. Great weapon, plenty of...

Suggestions for use of an old cell phone?

If you have a good phone and reliable plan I would donate your old one to the cops or some other emergency service organization. As for a back up in a SHTF situation...if the SHTF, will cell service even be available. Heck...things now are peachy and my cell service tends to be spotty.

A Soldier's Load, and His Lack of Mobility

My Two cents As long as there are soldiers their will be complaints about their equipment. I too am a product of the early Light Infantry inception into the Army and lived by the "Light Infantry is a couple of words, not a concept". I said that because I was tired of humping close to my body...

    Ft Huachuca/Sierra Vista

As for gun storage, one of the gun shops there did offer a storage service. This was some time ago and I think the shop has moved, It was called Sierra Vista Guns and was located just outside the main gate next to the Sorry Gulch Saloon (gotta visit the Gulch at least once). I think they...

    my H&K p2000 V2 LEM just arrived....

I have a P2000 in .40 and love it. It replaced my Glock 19C as my primary carry. Unless you are required to carry 9mm I suggest you give it a try....you'll love it.

    Best SONG involving guns

Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner by Warren Zevon. For that matter, there are a number of excellent songs by Warren with firearms (Lawyers, Guns and Money, I'll Sleep When I'm Dead). It's a shame we lost this great singer/songwriter.
