Tell me about handgun scopes for hunting

I use a 2x Burris on my S&W 629 8-3/8 barrel for white-tail deer. The scope gives additional clarity at dusk and dawn. The gun is accurate at distances beyond what I can see with open sights. (The front sight that came on the gun is quite wide, and covers a large portion of the target.) I like...

    Donut pattern?

What factors contribute to a donut pattern ? I'm using a 28 inch modified choke barrel, with Remmington turkey #4, 1 1/2 oz, 2 3/4". I did a search, and one THR member (who I assume loads his own), states that using a different wad helped to reduce the donut pattern. At 30 yards, my shot...

    Rear pocket handgun carry question

Kahr MK9 in a Uncle Mike's, right rear pocket of jeans. When sitting, the pistol is behind me, not underneath me. I get about a year out of the holster before having to replace it.

    rubber grips for kahr?

Hogue makes the "Handall Jr." grip sleeve. I have read that some folks like them, while others have reported that the rubber tends to cling to clothing. I have not tried one because I generally pocket carry, and don't want the gun to drag. I suppose it would be less of a problem with a WB holster.

    Kahr "D/A Only"

dfariswheel, you provided an excellent description of the workings of this fine little pistol. However, I want to point to a few minor details. I don't want to appear to be nit-picking, but you mention a distinction between 'firing pin' and 'striker'. I have open before me my Owners Manual for...

    Kahr "D/A Only"

I agree with Calhoun. And in addition to what he describes, there is also the striker blocker, which must be moved out of the path of the striker by the second cam before the striker can travel to the primer. The Kahr is quite safe, so long as the trigger isn't pulled, the gun will not fire...

    CCW in messenger bag?

One more vote here against off-body carry. You're better off getting a small pistol for carry, like a 9mm mini, if concealment is a problem for you. Then, once your CCW needs are met, you can start saving up for that full-sized.

    NY: Unlawful vehicle detention?

I was on a jury where a man was charged with assault for hitting an occupied car with his car. (He got off, too little evidence of intent.) I can't imagine that anyone would want to invite that charge, no matter the outcome.
