Hi all.
Have a newly acquired box of SNS Castings SWC 158gr for 38-Spcl and am looking for some favorite loads from others that have loaded and shot these. Any Chrono'd loads?
Have CFE Pistol, not yet used bottle of BE-86, Titegroup and HS-6.
Thx
Have some loads ready for testing this weekend. I am seriously, liking the clean holes in the paper with these.
In search of light plinking loads with just enough 'mmmf' to cycle the action of my Glock21 with Lone Wolf barrel! And of course some accuracy would not hurt, as well...
I tried and chrono’d these loads a couple weeks ago using HS-6. I used HS-6 because it’s what I had. I will use other powders and work up loads for them as well, based on what I have in stock at the time. Half the fun of reloading is in the experimentation, so have FUN and try lots of powders...
Murf...
Be happy to post deviation #'s, etc tonight...at work and notes are at home. Work...get's in the way of the really important aspects of life, such as shooting! haha
Good AM all.
Sharing some load info with HS-6 from this weekend. Brass was all Winchester and used Winchester Large Pistol primers. HS-6 a little on the dirty side but doable.
185gr Hornady XTP; 8.7gr HS-6; COAL 1.213 @ 865fps avg
185gr Hornady XTP; 9.2gr HS-6; COAL 1.213 @ 963fps avg...
So here are the results of a couple loads tested at the range this weekend:
5 rounds tested for each of the two groups:
200gr SWC SNS Castings; 8.2gr HS-6; COAL 1.225 @ 898fps avg
200gr SWC Black Bullets Int’l; 8.3gr HS-6; COAL 1.225 @ 919fps avg
It appears I need to back off just a bit...
I have had the DELUXE model for about 5 years now. I like it for rifle loads with the index-rod removed...becomes a single stage! Others complain about the aluminum base, but so far, it has NOT been an issue for me!
CONS: The primers catch could be better as it allows for about half to be...
CFE powder for 45acp
Just chrono'd some loads for the .45 using CFE this past weekend using Berry's HBFP...alongside Titegroup and HS-6 for same pistol.
Noticable, was the tamer kick as compared to Titegroup, and the CFE filled less of the brass compared to HS-6. Agree with others that it...
Looking for some thoughts on loads for this round (200gr SWC SNS Castings).
Nice price in bulk, so looks like a economical buy for plinking. Picked up a box of 500rds. Goal is velocities in the 900+ range for easy recoil.
These are the powders I have and will be fired from my Glock21...
Nice job AV8TOR!
Thinking about doing something like that...gets hot in Phoenix too!
Where did you get the metal stand from? Seen something like it at Harbor Freight. Thx
Not much luck with load data from Hogdon site.
I am using Berry's:
185gr HBRN
200gr HP
Need help with load info (powder weight, C.O.L, etc.). Just plinking and like to keep things light with my Glock 21. Been using Titegroup and HS-6 but thought I would give CFE Pistol a try...then...
OK, so...
I am not the most mechanical dude in the West! And I am on a budget...blah, blah!
I am looking for some idea's on how to create an effective, yet simple automated case feeder/loader for the Hornady LNL AP. I don't have the big bucks for Hornady's 'PLANT'. Does anyone have the...
Hey all,
Wondering if any others have used the Bully Adapter for the Hornady Bullet Feeder Die and if so, what's your opinion on it? Performance, etc. Seems to work pretty well with the Lee Tube Feeder. When one tube is empty, just 'twist' and the next tube of 30 drops, and is ready to go...
Curious?
My Hornady load manual shows only a few powders for the .303B. Lyman/Sierra manuals not list and loads for 123gr. Am curious what you guys using for recipe's in the 123gr bullet.
Thanks
What's up all!
I have been trolling this site for over a year...started when I was looking for reload bench idea's. Along the way I found lots of other great discussions, etc. Joined last week and shared some pics of my bench. I really appreciate the time that lots of you have put into this...
Nice...I built one last summer (2'x6') and it's plenty strong. In fact, it blew my expectations away! I had Home Depot dude cut the pieces and I only had to stain it and put it together; easy-peazy! Thinking about another for more space. I posted pics...highly recommend.
