I have never had any problem with mine other than a spent shell smacking me on the noggin every now and then. Thats half the fun of it. Ive always used GP-11 and it works perfectly. Cant get enough of it.

I have the savage 12bvss in .223 and I love it. It shoots moa and no kick at all. Kind of heavy though. Bench shooting and prone shooting it would be great. I dont know if you would want to hump it arround all day. The trigger is excellent right out of the box. I throughly recommend it.
