Picket bullet Thanks razorback1010, My first impression of a picket bullet was that it was very pointed. It looks like it would have trouble going down the barrel as well as being a little wobbly in flight. I recognize it's evolution to The modern bullet design now. A good lesson thank you.

I shot my Goonerized Walker today. It has gone from a loved but difficult to manage beast to a SWEET shooting revolver worth way more than I paid to have it Goonerized. The first time I took it out, I had trouble adjusting to it. Now i can't put it down. Thanks so much Mike.

Ok folks, I am the proud owner of a goonerized Walker. Although as yet unfired, I must say that the look and feel is everything y'all said. Glad I investigated and invested. Anyone sitting on the fence about this, get off and do it.

    Do you carry at home?

Home defense I have a layered defense. 1. 2 Shi'tzu s that bark at anything that moves. 2. 1heinz 57 with a scary set of teeth also barks. 3. A can of wasp and hornet killer that shoots 20 ft. I shudder to think of what that would do to a man's face. 4. Any number of ready to load firearms...

ACW Just a different perspective, the ACW as some call it could also be called the war of northern aggression (WNA).

    Gunsmith Fanning Question: 1851 Navy

Fanning I am having my Walker goonerized as we speak. I intend to do the same with my '51 Navy and SAA when the opportunity presents itself. I am not a marksman by any stretch but respect and appreciate fine equipment and will never fan them.

Walker Colt I have been listening to conversations concerning tuning your revolver. I don't know what this means but I suspect that my Walker may benefit. It tightens up after the second shot not necessarily related to primer cap jamming. By tighten up, I mean the cylinder is difficult to...

Frankly I rarely carry it like that. A pair of suspenders attached to my belt does allow it to be comfortable though.

    Smooth bore barrel

Yes I would like one for lead shot and keep the original as is. Making one is not an option for me. Purchasing one will be the way to go. Thanks

    Smooth bore barrel

A question. How or where would one acquire a smooth bore barrel for an Uberti 1851 Navy Colt?

Ok, THR members, where do you buy your real black powder?

Pyrodex I'm confused. I thought pyrodex was an improvement over bp. I would be willing to switch to Goex etc. if there was good reason. Local stores in my area carry Goex, and 777, but I don' t know about Swiss. Please enlighten.
