I see no reason to worry about it. You said they shot great so I would ignore it. Those cases will clean up pretty easily anyway. Especially if you wet tumble.
I use HP38 in 9mm and I have a couple pistols that do the same thing with that powder. It is only a couple of pistols. Some make dirty...
As mentioned above, I full length size all my 308 as I have different rifles and am not gonna keep separate loads for each rifle.
I agree with getting rid of the expander ball and sizing the neck in a second step. Get an expander mandrel you'll love it.
I have a Sig P220 carry legion edition that I absolutely love. Goes everywhere with me. I should have bought a second one before they stopped making them.
Clean primer pockets is the big reason I wet tumble. I just have less problems when I clean my brass that way.
I'm convinced it is one of the reasons why I don't seem to have problems with the "metric" or troublesome brands.
I had a similar problem with genex SPP in 10mm auto with AA #9. Had stuck projectiles with a wad of yellowish half burnt powder behind the projectile. Only happens below 50 degrees F as far as I can tell.
I didn't break down all the rounds because I forgot to take pictures last time and I'm...
The Dillon 1050 or similar is really the only answer. That being said I still have yet to acquire one.
I use the Dillon super swage and it works pretty fast once you get in the swing of things. Next best option to the above as far as I can tell.
It does seem like he could use shorter brass and solve the case fill problem. Since he was lamenting the demise of Trail Boss and how bulky it was.
I know in my Henry lever when I want subsonic for the can, I run 38 special. If I want more power, I load up 357.
Yeah all my lee powder measures have been sent off to greener pastures. There are just better products out there, and I got tired of always tinkering with the Lee stuff.
Yeah that is one of the nice things about 2400. I've never found the need for a magnum primer. It downloads well too.
Downside these days is if you are chasing max velocity, there are better performers. I've never really been one to chase max velocity though so it works well for me.
I would run more sources than just the one manual. That being said, I don't think you could go wrong with H110. Though I use 2400 myself, both have a good reputation in the straight wall magnums.
I have quite a few nickel 9mm cases mixed in with the brass. I load them up with the brass cases for target loads. The different cases make no difference as far as I can tell.
A few of the nickel cases are almost completely brass now. Only on a close inspection can you tell they were nickel...
I have had that model for a couple years. The trays are fragile. My biggest complaint really.
The first one showed up with broken trays right out of the box. I called and got a new unit shipped with more broken trays. Lucky, between the two units I had a complete set and I sent all the busted...
Yeah I bought one about a decade ago and it works just fine. Actually was looking at the Dillon primer filler and just couldn't come up with a reason why I needed it. That almost never happens to me haha.
