    Mossberg MVP Scout Rifle?

Waste of a scope, but at least it's available without it. I saw it on something from SHOT, but forgot to post it in here. Thanks

    Mossberg MVP Scout Rifle?

The 308 Win version used 2 little tabs on the bolt that pick up the rounds. I don't know why that works for the 308 and not the 223, but I haven't handled either of them.

    Mossberg MVP Scout Rifle?

Well this deviated quickly. I guess no one else knows about it either. It is NOT the Patrol version. It's listed on Davidson's without a photo.

    Mossberg MVP Scout Rifle?

Just saw this on one of the big FFL's sites. Google doesn't even take me back to that site, and I can't find anything close to relevant. Anyone have any info? Thanks

    Ruger GSR .223/5.56

The .308 version seems to be going for around $900 or more when I've seen it. Also, when released many were going for MORE than MSRP, and I suspect the 223 variant will do the same. In regard to magazines, if the standard AICS 223 mags fit, that would be a lighter, and slightly cheaper option...

    Ruger GSR .223/5.56

What would stop someone from using an AICS 223 magazine? Seems like a really bad move, since those are already available. Or does it? It's not easy to get a double stack magazine in a bolt action receiver. The Mossberg MVP is a good example of what needs to be done. In any case, given the...

    What's this rifle?

This doesn't happen to me often, but I'm bothered when it does. The individual on the right is carrying what appears to be a FAL of some sort. What about the guy on the right? I thought SMLE at first, but the magazine seems too small. Help?

Would like to make a copy of the USAF M4 Survival Rifle

I didn't expect a drop in fit, I don't mind doing the work, but the stock is the only thing I don't think would be easily accomplished. I could do most of the work with a dremel and a little bedding material. Maybe it would be easier to accomplish with a folding stock, or even an airsoft MP5...

Would like to make a copy of the USAF M4 Survival Rifle

I have an old Marlin/Glenfeld 25 22lr that I would like to convert into something a bit more unique. I think it would make a nice base into something like the M4 survival rifle, but I am having trouble finding the right parts. Namely, the collapsible wire stock. I have looked at M4 parts (the...

    which brush gun?

I chose the R15. I think it's a better choice because the BLR is too complicated internally for my liking. YMMV

modern pistol/rifle combination with semi automatics and more performance?

Magnum Research BFR and Marlin Guide Gun would be my first choice. But if I'm limiting myself to modern designs, I'm going to be modern and just use appropriate calibers for each.

The extremely rare Ruger Gunsite Scout...

Not for you. I have a Ruger Frontier, which is quite similar. It's a very handy rifle, and I don't see a practical reason for you to be against it. Have you ever shot a rifle with a forward mounted optic?

    Benelli m4 H20 question

$2400, ouch. I had one for a time in the Corps. They are amazing. I've been considering the standard, but $1400 + a new mag tube makes me cringe as it is. Still, it's on the wish list. I'll be waiting still. Maybe if the H20 version sells well the standard finish will get the restoration...

    Minimalist Gun Collection

My "minimalist" assortment is (as of right now): Glock 19 9mm for self defense Ruger Frontier 308 for hunting just about anything you can think of in PA and I it's quick enough it could be used in a fight in a pinch. Winchester 37 12 gauge 28" full choke and 20 gauge 20" cylinder bore (I...

avoiding ear damage with powerful rifles

If you have to quit shooting anything because your ears hurt, you're doing it wrong. Hearing damage is permanent and cumulative. Shoot 5 rounds of unprotected .50BMG today and you'll do a certain amount of damage. That doesn't mean the next 5 rounds won't do damage, but a 6th would. Every...

Had a thought: E mailed S&W Governor Jr.

So you're telling me that customer suggestions are stupid, and I should just buy a used gun for more money than the new one I'm suggesting could cost, then turn around and have to send it out to get the gun I really want. In that case, I apologize for wasting your time with this post. Let's...

Had a thought: E mailed S&W Governor Jr.

It doesn't cost just $80 though. First you have to buy the .45 revolver. Since I won't be buying a Taurus, a new S&W .45 Colt is going to cost about $800 or more. Meanwhile, the Governor is going for under $600 online. The only difference the Governor has going for it is that it entered the...

    Barrel Break-in

That's the thing though. It does hurt the barrel life. The break in process literally removes steel from the rifling, essentially accelerating the aging process of the barrel. How many rounds you lose is unknown, as it is dependent on the barrel, cartridge, amount of "break in", etc.

    ak 47

A well converted Saiga is probably about as close as you'll get to a real AKM. The AKM is sort of the AK47-A2. I believe Arsenal Inc. makes a darn good rifle for the money, and they use Saigas as the base on many, if not all of their rifles. They'll cost you more than a WASR, but you're...
