    Shot Heard 'Round the World

krupparms We in Appleseed pride ourselves in working to wake up Americans to their rich heritage. We always say that the shooting is the hook but the real message is in the history.

    Shot Heard 'Round the World

And just think...this is just the FIRST STRIKE. There's 2 more plus a bunch of other stories of choices, decisions and sacrifices of the actors that day! You all should come out to an Appleseed to hear this and many other other tales of our common American heritage! (mac -- this is...

    Opinions of MAG-20 without Mas?

After 2 years of trying to find a training class that lines up with my schedule (heavy international business travel and 3 kids in lots of sports and activities tend to fill up nearly every weeknight and weekends), I finally found a class I can take. I just found out there is a MAG-20R class...

    6.5x55 Mauser on hogs/deer

6.5mm projectiles have great sectional density (SD) and thus penetrate like nobody's business. The family of cartridges (6.5x55, 260 Rem, 6.5 Creedmore, 6.5x47mm, 6.5 Grendel, etc) tend to be very accurate, light in recoil, penetrate well, kill far beyond their "paper" ballistics.

    1900 Mauser M/96

Please do NOT alter that rifle. I have an 1900 Oberndorf and it is a fine shooter with mil-ball 6.5x55mm. If you want a scoped gun, sell it to someone who will preserve it and then use the money to go buy a modern rifle. As said above, hell awaits those who destroy history.

Why not the FN/FAL over the M14 and AR-10?

In it's military guise I don't think the FAL is less accurate than the military versions of the M14 or the AR10. I will grant that either can be more easily made accurate. Most military M14s will only shoot 2-3 MOA and most ARs (if the internet commandos tell the truth) will do about the same...

    DS Arms FAL/SA58 .308

I have 2 DSAs...both the full size StG58 and a 16" Para SA58. 1. Accuracy with 16" or 18" barrel? Accuracy has nothing to do with barrel length...I don't know why this myth persists. FALs in general are 2-3 MOA guns with surplus. Mine are better than that with good ammo. What is...

I like the shorter barrels. These are mine.

    WWI Gun Sale...HELP! 1917, Mauser,Mosin Nagant, Enfield

Man, those descriptions remind me of a bunch of guns I bought from an older gentleman's estate. Sometimes it is frightening how little people know...or more properly, how much stuff they get wrong. He gets ID wrong, calibers are wrong, the lineage of the M1917 is wrong. Pathetic. As...

STG58 vs. SA58 (DS Arms comparison)

While it is just one data point, my SA58 Para with 16.25" barrel and standard gas system has been flawless for 1000+ rounds. Nary a hitch. I don't find it necessarily louder (maybe people next to me would disagree) and certainly not less reliable. I like my StG58A also but the Para is my...

    My Tactical Lever Gun project...

I like it. This is a Marlin 1895GBL. Had the original sights replaced with XS ghost ring. I have since put an XS Lever Rail system on it. My preference for this will be a long eye relief 2.5x with and illuminated dot. Save that, an Aimpoint micro T1 or similar will ride on there.

    Backpacking gun, .308 or heavier?
