Corrosive Ammo in my SOCOM 16 duh......

I've shot lots of corrosive ammo with no problems but was anal about proper cleaning. Proper cleaning preferably to include the use of either copious amounts of hot soapy water followed hot water rinse or thorough use of the old white colored GI bore cleaner. I've seen the results of neglect...

still doesn't explain the locks though... :)

How do I make My Ruger look 90 years old?

Carry, shoot, use, enjoy it and it will take on an aged character of it's own.

I really like the end result.

    S&W New No-Lock Guns!!!

Not to start a p***ing contest or debate the lock v no lock issue anymore than it already has been, but the 642 locked model that I used to own, locked on me while firing. It only happened to me once and I never could replicate it, but talk about losing confidence in a SD weapon... I'll never...

to port or not to port

+1 I like my 4" M500 S&W except for the comp. I'm not saying it doesn't reduce felt recoil but the trade-off (muzzle blast) is not worth it to me.

What is your Smith & Wesson dream gun that they never made?

There are a lot of variations that I'd like to see. None of which have the lock. Of models that I currently have and that come to mind would be a true 4" M500 w/o comp.

    Nice holster for 2.5", 3", 4" N Frames?

Lotsa good holsters out there. I have the EPS #77 & #88 for big wheel guns (357 & 500), but I prefer the ORourke pancake for my 4" 629. http://www.gun-holsters.com/holsters.html

    Romanian Ak-47

Nothing wrong with a Romy. Which one are you looking at, SAR, G model, WASR? They're prolly not the best but are every bit as close to true AK as we can get.

    Dickies and pocket carry LCR

I wear dickies work pants (no cargo pockets) alot. I sometimes pocket carry S&W 642/442 using the mika pocket holster. It seems to work ok for me but I've been thinking of trying a nemesis just to see if it's any better. I think a pocket holster of some kind is necessary if you carry in that method.

M1 Stock Snap for Magazine pouch

There's lots I don't know or haven't seen but I don't think the pouchs actually attaches to the stock.

I dont know what this is on end of barrel, but i like it

Looks like a waste of someone elses money as I'd never buy anything like that but if they're happy, I'm tickled to death. IMO, if that is a Mossberg design idea, it's nothing more than a gizmo gimmick to impress the mall ninja types. But if it sells a few shotguns, maybe it's doing what it was...

Bass Pro Shops SW Model 1917

Thanks for the headsup and not to beat a dead horse but I refuse to buy any S&W with the infernal internal lock. Unless it's one heckuva deal and I don't consider this one of those deals. :)

    Burned Buying Taurus M94

Congrats to those that have had good experience with Taurus. When I used to make the gunshow circuit, it seems people wanted to sell or trade Taurus more than any other gun. IMO, there's a reason for that.

    Ruger vs S&W

As to revolvers, nothing wrong with Rugers but I much prefer S&W. especially for ccw. The new LCR may be ok though.

    45-70 vs 450 Marlin??

IMO, no question, .45-70 I see no pratical use for the 450 that the 45-70 doesn't provide.

    Let's talk aluminum baseball bats

I haven't held one but saw them advertised. I think Cold Steel has a poly bat called the Brooklyn Crusher or something like that. It's not for baseball.

    S&W Model 629-4"???

I have a 4" M-629. I think it's almost perfect (except for the IL) for holster carry while hunting or just out and about.

    Smith Wesson 642 vs 442

The apparent difference is the finish but as has been mentioned, I believe that also the steel parts (barrel, cylinder, etc) are carbon (442) and stainless (642). As most folks do, I prefer the no-lock model but I also have lock models.
