Help Me Choose a Tactical Rifle

If you are just looking for something for "just in case" and not for TEOTWAWKI scenerios for a different sort of suggestion, how about a good old 30-30. Think about it, ballistics are equivalent to a 7.62X39. One of the really nice things about them is that a lever action 30-30 lacks any social...

    Free Brass

Think of it this way, you found out, for a fairly low price, that those people are liars and cheats. Might sound harsh but it is what it amounts to.

Chuck, The most important thing to me is good. I would rather pay a little more and get fast, but there is a balance there. I have a colt .45 auto thata I would like to put a low mount set of BoMars on as well as a new front sight, get the slide ported and a beaver tail grip safety and a...

Joe, Alas, the nearest one to me is over 400 miles away. I used to live in the same town with Mike Watkins and had him do my work until he moved off to work for Brownell's in Iowa. :-(

    pistolsmith recommendations

I'm looking for more of a carry gun than a race gun. I've checked within a couple of hundred miles of where I am at and there are no GOOD pistol smiths around, so if I'm going to have to ship it off I don't care if a smith is in Texas or not. Recomendations?

I am looking for a pistol smith to do some 1911 work for me. There is no one local so I thought I look for recomendations for some where to ship off to. Price and time for the work to get done matter, but quality of work is the most important. Thanks.

    223 case trim length

A thought, why not trim to loading manual case length, then seat the bullet out a little farther so it is where you want it in realtion to the lands? Good luck, Ron

    Which Lever?

30-30 You can buy new boxer primed loaded ammo that you can reload later when you do start reloading quite cheap at the discount sporting goods stores. The recoil is there, but it won't be as bad as the 308 you are planning on and heck, even a slip on recoil pad will relieve that a large...

    870 barrel question

I understand that the 870 Wingmaster barrels have a "spring loaded plunger" to keep the magazine cap tight so that it doesn't come loose and allow the barrel to come off, which would be really bad. :). So the question. I got a 20 inch barrel the other day, it looks to be a Wingmaster barrel...

    What's the Best 1911?

I think Colt is best, especially the pre Series 80. Just my opinion, I don't think the others are tresh, I just like Colt the best. You should get the one that you like the best, you will enjoy it more and have more confidence in it, and that my friend is the name of the game. Ron

    Touching primers

Wash your hands good before you reload, especially priming, and you should be fine. Be sure to wash them again after reloading due to the lead you'bve been handling, and not just the bullets. Ron

    Bullet / Primer sealer

If the cartridges are going to be in a wet and/or wet enviorment and you feel it is needed you can use some nail polish around the primeers once they are seated for sealent. Cast bullets that have been lubed don't needed one because the bullet lube serves the purpose of a sealent. For jacketed...
