Are tang sights common? Any added/lower value to the gun? Should I be lobbing shots down range or does the unfired have any value?

I have a Browning High Power in 9mm S/N 245NX848XX with a tang sight that flips up to 500 meters/yards. It has never been fired, don't know much about it.

I have a Trooper MK III 6' blued, factory grips, S/N 9811##. Can this gun handle hot loads? Also, have a matching 8" made about the same time. Plan on taking a few deer with it this year. Any info regarding these would be great.
